[If anyone's been looking for this Riku the past two weeks, they wouldn't have found him anywhere. He was pulled from the DR and has just recently returned this morning. Unwillingly, of course, as he'd much rather have stayed back in his world, but sometimes things just don't work out like that.

And just to mess with him some more, the DR's plucked him right out of his bed. He's sitting on the curb of the sidewalk outside of the apartments in a t-shirt and pajama pants, looking irritated and only half awake.]

Someone please tell me I'm not where I think I am.

That sounds so weird. What with my parents and all.

To me, your situation is the one that's weird.

[He's going to stop right outside his house when they reach it.]

Um...do you want to come inside...?

[It feels weird actually inviting her in, but he's not going to just leave her there.]

[her face brightens with a smile at the invitation]

Are you sure? I don't want to impose.

You wouldn't be. [He glances at the house for a moment.] Shiru's not here, though.

[He heads for the door, helpfully holding it open for her if she does decide to come inside.]

Oh, too bad. I wanted to meet him.

[she'll step inside, looking around curiously because what is self-preservation]

[To the right, there's a good-sized living room with a ~~ridiculous number of~~ two couches pushed against one wall, an armchair, and a TV. To the left, there's a kitchen. It looks sorta like this inside.

Also, do you like cats, Kira? There is a grey-and-black striped kitten attempting to curl its way around your legs, meowing for attention.]

You'll probably meet him sometime. By the way, there might be soda in the fridge if you're interested.

[Brb disappearing into bedroom.]

[Kira loves small furry things! She's going to be picking up the kitten for pettings and cuddles; also, you're getting dressed and there's a girl with a short skirt in your house, whatever would Shiru think?]

Okay! Oh, you're such a cute kitty, yes, you are!

[He would think Riku actually managed to get a girlfriend.

Also, the kitty does like pettings and cuddles and also your hair. He may be attempting to grab at it with tiny claws.]

[Kira is giggling happily as she plays with the kitten, taking out a bit of ribbon to dangle for the kitten to bat at instead of her hair]

[The kitty doesn't mind the swap, turning his attention to the ribbon instead of Kira's hair.

Riku reappears a minute later, properly dressed this time in a sleeveless shirt and jeans. He has to stare at the kitten for a few seconds, because he didn't notice it and it wasn't there before.]

Well, that's new.

[she pauses in dangling the ribbon, which means the kitten might be able to get a hold on it for nomming]

[He will, and will chew on his prize for a few seconds before attempting to pull it out of her grip.]

The kitten. I've never seen it before.

Maybe it's Shiru's?

[oh it won't be that easy, kitty, she's pulling the ribbon away again]

Probably. Wonder what he named it.

[He's approaching Kira and the kitten, who is streeetching to get the ribbon again. Apparently he doesn't love Riku, because when Riku reaches out to pet him, he hisses.]

[Kira is startled by that and cuddles the kitten against her chest]

Oh no! Don't hiss. This is Riku and he's nice, kitty.

[Riku pulls his hand back, surprised.]

Huh. You probably smell more familiar or something. It'll just leave it alone for now.

How can I smell more familiar? This is my first time meeting the kitty. And don't say 'it'.

[going to check if the kitty is a girl or a boy~]

[The kitty is very much male, but Riku didn't know that. And he doesn't much like being examined, going by the unhappy mewl he makes. Where did the ribbon go?]

More like the dressing room? Or less like Moomba. I don't know. It doesn't really matter.

[He shrugs, then looks at the closed front door as if he can see through it.]

Shi's going to be home soon. Looks like you'll get to meet him after all.

The kitty's a boy. And I'll be glad to meet Shiru. I love making new friends.

[Kira smiles brightly at Riku before setting the kitten upright again, dangling the ribbon]

[Well, that's good, because Shiru's walking in the door a few minutes later with an armful of groceries. And once inside, freezes, because for the past two weeks, he's been alone and suddenly there's a girl and Riku there this time.

...Both of whom he's ignoring in favor of going into the kitchen and dumping the groceries on one of the counters once he recovers from the initial 'wtf' reaction.]

[.............................]

Riku, he's rude! I thought Shiru would be nice like you!

He's never been nice. I think he was programmed wrong.

[To Shiru] Nice to see you, too! I hope you got more than sugary stuff.

[There are sounds of bags rustling and grocery items being set on the counter, then:]

I can hear both of you, just so you know. And no, I wasn't expecting you to be here so you can get your own food, Real Thing.

[now she's rounding on you after setting down the kitten, because she's sensitive on the subject of Replicas]

Don't say that about Shiru! It's mean! And not true.

[Take that, Riku. Now she's angry at you. Kira might notice that Shiru's moved and is leaning against the wall nearby behind her, grinning.]
