[anyone near the bridge from the residential area into Radiant Garden should be able to spot the sizable streak of crimson in the water, headed downstream towards the ocean. even if you don't notice it then, it would be kind of hard to miss as a naga that looks like (and is) an Axel pulls himself partially out of the water on the riverbank right next to the bridge. he looks annoyed, but also curious about his surroundings as he turns to sit, leaning back on his hands. the bulk of his body and tail are still in the water, the current making it difficult to tell how much of him there really is.]

Not really. It's not like they're using lightning spells to gather electricity. But it would be hard to explain it all.

[he moves a bit so Axel can easily move through the doorway while still keeping it open.]

But it's not dangerous at all. The worst that could happen is it closing on the end of your tail, and it wouldn't do so with enough force to break it or anything.

[he studies Nami's face for a moment, then nods and slides forward, watching the door carefully to make sure it's not going to attack him. but of course it doesn't, and he turns once he's inside, whisking the end of his tail in after him.]

[he follows after Axel once he's completely inside, then moves far enough away that the door will close. unless Axel's still close, of course.]

If you want to try it yourself, you can.

[he shakes his head, looking more relaxed now that he knows the door isn't an evil portal that will bite him in half.]

I will try it when we leave.

That sounds like a good idea. Now, it will probably get colder as we get closer to the meat freezer. It might be a good idea in the future to make sure you're warm and will stay that way even with the cold. Maybe wrap your upper body up a bit.

[nodnod. cold --> cover bare skin. or go somewhere where it isn't cold, either way. that is a concept he's familiar with. o7]

That's good. Actually, there might be another area in here where you can warm up. This place has a bakery section, so things will be kept warm there.

[eventually he pushes open an 'employees only' door that really doesn't even need to be there since there are no employees, and travels a short way further to a large set of metal doors.]

[assuming this is your average supermarket, it's kind of unusual to him already. the lights overhead, the narrow (to him) aisles, the slick floor... humans are so weird. he's moving very gingerly, trying to avoid bumping into anything as he follows Nami.]

Bakery... that issss... bread?

Bread and pastries, yes.

[he unlatches the door, but doesn't open it just yet.]

Brace yourself, there'll be a blast of cold air.

[well, there's cold, and then there's a freezer, and he's only encountered one of these things before, so even though he coils up pretty tightly, it won't be enough, but carry on anyway!]

Alright, I am ready.

[at least since he's mostly in front of Axel, it won't hit him as strongly? maybe, anyway. he pulls open the freezer door, eyeing the floor with a frown for a moment. even if Axel were able to bundle up, that could prove to be a problem. he can't imagine the naga would do well over a floor that cold.]

[because he's shirtless and basically unprotected from the cold, when it reaches him he hisses and curls up even more, trying to shield his bare skin with the scaled part of his body, though that feels the cold just as much. he isn't backing off, though, because he really wants this to work; Nami's been so nice to him so far, and helpful.

if they kept a blanket or several towels or something by the door to the freezer, Axel could easily spread them out on the freezer floor ahead of himself in the future, to protect himself. :O ]

[that would work. in any case, he's glancing back to Axel with a frown.]

Do you want anything now? I can pull something out for you this time.

[he untenses a bit, skin already turning paler as his blood circulates into the center of his body to stay warm, and approximates with his hands about how big whatever it is should be. about the size of a small pig, more or less, and he's bravely shuffling a little closer so he can help Nami once he's back out of the freezer with it.]

N-not too big, I have eaten recsssently.

[he heads in to grab something roughly that size. there must be a butcher's area attached to this place because there are plenty of whole/partial animals, and not just already packaged meat products.]

[he waits, more or less patiently, and will be right there just to one side of the door to take it from him, in case it's heavy or something. he's not going to like how cold the meat is, though; somewhere else the blankets will be useful.]

[they could take it to the bakery or something! he could show Axel how to turn the oven on and he could put meat in there for a couple minutes to warm up. but yes, he lugs the meat he'd grabbed out of the freezer with a bit of difficulty, glancing over at Axel.]

Is this alright?

[he moves to take it, flinching at how cold it is, and manages to keep a decent grip on it with just his claws. also he's cool with lugging it somewhere and letting it thaw on its own, he's in no rush to eat.]

You're welcome. Let's head to the bakery, it'll be warmer.

[mostly so Axel can warm up, but it'll probably help the meat thaw, too.]
