[anyone near the bridge from the residential area into Radiant Garden should be able to spot the sizable streak of crimson in the water, headed downstream towards the ocean. even if you don't notice it then, it would be kind of hard to miss as a naga that looks like (and is) an Axel pulls himself partially out of the water on the riverbank right next to the bridge. he looks annoyed, but also curious about his surroundings as he turns to sit, leaning back on his hands. the bulk of his body and tail are still in the water, the current making it difficult to tell how much of him there really is.]

[it'll be footsteps and not a heartbeat of any sort that will alert the naga to this person's presence. he's come up behind the odd Axel, though is keeping a fair bit of distance between them just in case he's dangerous.]

[that's not very nice, sneaking up downwind of someone, didn't your mother ever tell you that. >| he starts just slightly, turning to look over his shoulder.]

Ssss, jusst a little losst, I think. I had never sseen thiss river before, nor anything I passsed on the way here.

[I don't have a mother. :/ he nods, a tiny, understanding smile flitting across his face briefly.]

I sssuppose sso. At leasst there iss water and sshelter here.

[he seems remarkably unconcerned about being somewhere else, and even about where "here" is. in fact, his biggest concern at the moment is the way his hair is sticking to his back as the water leeches out of it, which is why he's leaning forward a bit so he can rake his claws through the longer hair and unstick it.]

[There is a howling baby peering down at him from said bridge. Hi, mister big snake.]

[oh shit babbies up in here. why in the dicks is this small child howling at me, and where is its mother. :|a he's just going to. stare up at the howling child. and consider getting up to go capture and eat it see why it's making that noise.]

[It his a wobbly greeting howl, and it only stops when he abruptly disappears... only to reappear several feet closer to the side of the bridge Axel's closest to. He's howling again.]

[well, in that case he's just going to stay where he is, if the child is coming to him. :|a he IS looking around for its mother, however, because humans don't generally let their offspring run around loose like this.]

[Actually it looks more like he's going to fall through the railing and into the water at this rate. He's stopped making noise to peer down at him with those bright eyes. But his mother is definitely nearby. In fact, she's racing onto the bridge as he does that.]

[most fellow humans, at least, would probably have rushed by now to make sure he didn't fall. not this guy, though. food's easier to catch when it's already struggling, uh. oh, but there's the mother, damn. FOILED AGAIN.]

[You were so close, Axel. Aden is being scooped up by his furious mother before he can slip off the edge and into nagabelly. But that doesn't mean he's happy.]

[o dammit. is that what that noise means? he would have thought that was a sign of major distress or fear or something. anyway, hi Riku, watching you curiously now.]

[I mean he's not happy to be rescued, god. It doesn't take long before Riku's leaning against the rail, peering down at him. She is just slightly on guard. Aden is still screeching.]

["Hello there, is that your child? He looks delicious." no, self. that is not how you make friends.]

Hello. Is he yoursss?

Yes. And he's in big trouble for running off like that again.

[She shifts him up so he can hang his head over her shoulder, which he is now biting grumpily. She looks unperturbed, casually making her way off the bridge and closer to him.]

[gosh wtf is up with the people here, no one is afraid of me. the completely calm response is unsettling him a little, actually, and he hauls himself awkwardly the rest of the way out of the river so he can at least be taller than her. how about that 20+ feet of snake, Riku.]

He musst be quite an esscape artisst to get away from you like that.

[She's wondering how naga is best prepared for dinner. No, she might apologize if she knew it was unsettling, but she's met plenty of nagas in her life before, so she's not surprised at all. Aden is now trying to curl in on himself backwards, but his spine just won't go that way, so it's more like he's hanging backwards, upside down, across Riku's arms.]

He likes exploring. If he's let loose then he takes off.

[The bridge is nowhere near capable of bearing this Xigbar's weight. Not that this is about to keep him from exploring anyway of course, and it'll likely be the weight of his footfalls that'll first alert Axel to his presence.

Well, that or the scent of an extremely large lizard, with a heartbeat to match.]

[She's not joking. Riku hefts Aden up again to get him to right himself (which he does) and turns so he's facing Axel. That gets him making a creaking noise in his throat, wiggling and flailing his arms excitedly.]

There's a lot more of both than what you've seen, actually. This place has been called the dressing room in the past, but it's recently changed to be... a lot more open. The name isn't very fitting anymore.

[he's just watching quietly, not really seeming frightened or even wary.]

[he slides closer, tongue flicking curiously at Aden.]

[The tongue flickering makes him scream with laughter and reach his hands out to try and grab Axel, despite the distance. Riku is watching Axel like a hawk.]

[glances over, o hello. he has met dragons before, of various types, so this one's getting a polite nod of respect until he knows more about its temperament.]
