[Recent events have left a lot of flotsam cluttering the Destiny Islands beach over here, and the wind's blowing the waves into spray.

And sitting on a barrel over here, we have Xeha, gazing thoughtfully out over the waters. What's happened lately has been playing pretty heavily on his mind... These things come and go. But it's all shaken his confidence a little.

So, for the moment, the kid's taking it easy.]

[her smile dies a little, leaving her looking just sort of nostalgic, and maybe a little older than she really should.]

I miss it a lot.

Mmm. [He nods a little sadly.] I miss my home too sometimes.

And... sometimes I remember what was going on when I left, and I feel really guilty. People say time stops when you're in here, but...

[heck, what kind of state would her world even be in if it hadn't stopped?]

But you're never quite sure. [He nods again.] ... Sorry. I shouldn't have brought it up.

It's okay, it's not your fault. I didn't mind the question!

[she offers him her best smile, given her mood. it's real, even if it's not quite as bright as some of her smiles can be.]

[He smiles back.] Oh - okay. I just didn't want to bring up bad feelings about it all.

Like I said, it's okay. Sometimes you can't really help when that happens, you know?

Ah, yeah. I guess so. Heh...

[she goes quiet again, though she seems pretty content. she just doesn't know what to say now, but she enjoys the company, and the atmosphere.]

[He can't really say he minds the current situation, either.]

[she doesn't get to just chill with people often enough, really.]

[Same deal here. Chilling opportunities are rare enough - why waste them? He glances over at her, and up into the sky.

... Huh. Eyes. Should he bring that up, he wonders? After they'd just decided dark wasn't necessarily a thing to worry over?]

[he could! she might not answer, but he definitely could bring it up!]

[He'll just try something, then.]

Um. You know we were saying that stuff about darkness...?

Yeah?

[she doesn't actually know that the yellow/gold/whatever is even still there. at least not that visible. :D]

Have you, um. Ever actually tried anything with it? Since it got brought up and ... all that?

[she looks surprised for a moment, then sort of ashamed, looking down at her feet.]

Sort of... but not on purpose. I guess when Xigbar first... broke my Keyblade, I was really angry, and sad, but I kept training. And whenever I got frustrated, I'd get even angrier than normal, and then one day the wooden sword I was training with broke and I was so angry and the next thing I knew there was smoke and darkness coming off the training dummy...

[He nods, sympathetic.] Ah. I think I see... it's just - uh. You might want to look in a mirror. You look like you've been using it, is all I'm saying...

[she winces and shakes her head.]

I thought it would have gone away by now. With all the fighting and then Xigbar showing up to... to taunt me, basically, I got kind of angry... and it hasn't gone away yet. I didn't actually do anything, I don't think. I used normal spells...

Hey - hey, it's okay. I don't blame you for getting angry there, and if it happened... it happened. I just want to make sure everything's okay with it all, you know? I don't want to see it get too much.

I think I'm okay.

[he gets a smile for that concern!]

I still haven't really... used it after that first time, but I guess I can sort of feel it coming up when I get angry. Maybe that's part of why it scares people? Because it shows up more when people are angry?

[And there is more nodding.] Yeah, the association with anger... it's not going to help the reputation. I guess the trick would be using it when everything's calm, when it can't get the better of you... uh. General you?

I don't even really know how to use it... it just sort of shows up.

Hm. That could be tricky...

Yeah. And, well... I'm not sure I'm strong enough to really... control it? Like that, I mean.

[after all, Riku wasn't even scared of the darkness, and look what happened to her when she tried to control it!]
