[ Aden's feeling pretty down lately, not that you could tell. But this is the first time he's really spent Christmas without his parents. As far as he knows, the younger set (not the youngest set-- the future set that's part of his past) still don't know about them, and he wants to keep it that way.

So he's making due with Christmas his own way. Starting with a delightful assortment of chocolate coated insects. They're very large and drizzled with stripes of white chocolate dyed deep red and green, and most of them are not easily recognizable as insects. In fact, he's slipped a few (wrapped in cling wrap and tied with green ribbon) into the more 'normal' candy dishes around the place. They're also very crunchy, as made clear when he loudly bites into one.

And yes, he's wearing an apron. Those red stains are exactly what you think they are. ]

[Desi pokes her head in and looks at him curiously. This is her first Christmas without her parents too so if you wanna commiserate, feel free.]

[He's familiar with bugs. He was the type of kid who used to drop them down the backs of girls shirts when he was younger. And Austin's shirt too.]

[He has a hard time hating Christmas, since his mom tried her best to make sure he didn't loathe it with all of his being, but! He raises an eyebrow at that downcast greeting, looking over at Austin as he wipes some green chocolate off on that apron.]

[He makes a show of wiggling his fingers to emphasize that last part, then drops them and swipes up a smear of red chocolate on his finger to lick off.]

I prefer Halloween candy, but candy's candy.

[Though he won't eat Valentine's Day candies purely because he finds the holiday disgusting. Christmas candies are halfway decent, if he makes his own recipes.]
