[ Calling all babysitters: there is a mother in need.

No, really. Riku's sitting lazily in one of the kitchen chairs, her head having fallen to the side to watch her baby because she just doesn't have the energy to do anything else. She hasn't for several days now. Aden is sitting on the floor with a few baby toys and possibly something venomous, looking cheerful and active while Riku looks like hell, pale and clammy, with deep purple circles under her eyes. ]

[Always nice to hear she looks like death warmed over. She raises an eyebrow at Aden, who looks like he's trying to lean up and teeth on Kai's arm.]

[hey man, he doesn't like lying. he's going to look down at Aden as well, shifting him a little.]

How hard does he bite?

He's teething.

[Why yes, she actually does sound enthusiastic about this. It's about half sarcasm, which should be pretty obvious when she grins and holds up her hand. Those are tiny bite marks along the side, yes.]

[...brb being masochistic. he's going to give Aden somewhere to bite to test how hard it is.]

[Riku's eyebrows go up. Aden will latch onto it once it's close enough to his mouth, mouthing on it wetly for a minute before his little teeth start to dig in.]

[enjoy that hand, buddy. Kai's going to watch, waiting patiently to see how painful it gets.]

[He is! And his nomming will get progressively harder. Not enough to draw blood, but it will make a pretty decent bruise if Kai doesn't move his hand.]

That's his teething. When he bites when he's upset it's a lot worse.

[well, all he really does is wiggle that hand.]

Anything in particular that upsets him?

Getting cleaned up. Wiping his face, his hands, anything.

[Boy is that fun. Aden's biting down a little harder now.]

Sounds... fun.

[okay, time to start pulling away a bit. not hard, because if Aden decides to clamp down because of that... ow.]

[Aden will let him, while Riku rethinks her statement.]

Well, anything except his diapers.

[Have you ever changed a diaper, Kai?]

[HE HAS, ACTUALLY. and he doesn't even make a face at the idea, just nods.]

[Riku might look a little more willing to let him watch Aden, in that case. She's leaning against the counter and watching the two of them pretty thoughtfully, anyway.]

[...how does Aden deal with tickles? >3>]

[He shrieks with laughter of course.]

[TICKLES TIME, IN THAT CASE. babby laughs are so cute.]

[Shriieeeeeek. Laughing shrieks and giggles and wow he's loud. But Riku's smiling, even if it makes her wince a little.]

[s-sorry, baby is cute, he's forgotten about the whole. loud thing.]

[She's not saying anything, at least. But she does reach up to rub at her head.]

Cute for such a handful, huh?

Aren't all babies?

[That gets a snort out of her.]

Good point. But do you really think you'd be up for taking care of him?

I won't know until I try, right? Not like you'll actually be going anywhere, if it comes down to me having to hand him over too soon.

I guess not. I'm just... still not used to letting him go too far. And it feels like I shouldn't have to.

[She feels guilty, dude.]

I don't have to go far away or anything. I can just hang out with him for a bit somewhere near your room, so you can get some more rest.

[he says "more" because he figures Riku isn't stupid enough to not be resting when she's so bad off.]

[No, she's not. She's been resting plenty, but her immune system is shot from being sick ~~which is the reason being poisoned has affected her like this-~~]

Don't you have better things you should be doing?
