[ Calling all babysitters: there is a mother in need.

No, really. Riku's sitting lazily in one of the kitchen chairs, her head having fallen to the side to watch her baby because she just doesn't have the energy to do anything else. She hasn't for several days now. Aden is sitting on the floor with a few baby toys and possibly something venomous, looking cheerful and active while Riku looks like hell, pale and clammy, with deep purple circles under her eyes. ]

I feel pretty bad.

[She looks briefly amused, then her eyes go back to Aden, who is babbling wetly behind a teether. His eyes are on Kai, a big smile lighting them up.]

Oh, sorry, I'll move to the floor before I succumb.

[Not even looking at you, Larxene.]

Are you just sick, or...?

[he glances from Aden to Riku, silently asking permission to haul the kid up.]

[Riku's clearly in no shape to be a threat (though remember what happened last time Larx thought that about someone...) so Larxene actually relaxes a little bit for a change. Akane's accompanying her as usual, and toddles over in Aden's direction, though she seems more interested in the toys than their owner.]

*always a heart warmer, this one; he's leaning against the doorframe, crossing his arms over his chest -- he's getting progressively thinner, though he doesn't look too bad just yet*

[She nods in Aden's direction, because babby is making grabby hands at Kai.]

He wants you to pick him up.

[then Aden shall be picked up~. though Kai is even more concerned at her answer.]

Poisoned?

Red watches his son just as much as I do.

[Don't make her get defensive over him, it's not pretty when she does. She doesn't apparently care if Akane makes a move for Aden's toys; Aden doesn't either, and if he does, Riku expects he will take care of that on his own.]

Gee, thanks.

[She looks very amused when she smiles like that, but it disappears quickly into something softer and she looks over to him.]

[Aden will squeal with delight, his little arms flailing. Riku waves a hand casually.]

Don't worry about it. I'm fine.

[he doesn't look too convinced, but he just bounces Aden a little instead of saying anything more on that.]

You should take better care of yourself. You look like death's at your door. I'll make you some tea, and you should drag your ass to bed.

[That's too bad. She's telling the truth. But that question puts a much softer, affectionate smile on her face, the likes of which he's never seen on his Riku. It's a motherly smile.]

Hit one year last month.

[That makes her smile widen a bit, then form into a smirk.]

I've been in bed all day. I don't think a couple hours around the living will worsen my condition any.

[he thinks that smile looks really good on Riku, and it makes him smile, too, looking back to Aden and making a face.]

[He was coming to get a snack, but stops in the doorway when he sees Riku sitting there. He looks from Riku to Aden and back again.]

[Why, for the love of Kingdom Hearts, does it have something venomous with it. Ausra goes over to inspect her grandchild and sort of daughter, expertly pushing away a chair or two where Aden could potentially bump against the corners and legs. First rule, you have to childproof everything.]
