[In the shallows of the beach room's ocean is a rather large lizard. That would be because Isi and Shredder are hanging out there at the moment. While Shredder is in the water, Isi is leaning against a tree, eyes unfocused and a hard frown on his face. It's not long before the iguana pulls himself out of the water and heads up beside his owner, resting his soaked snout on Isi's thigh. The young man sighs and smiles tiredly down at Shredder, rubbing his thumb over the lizard's nose and the ridge over his eye. Both boy and lizard look a bit sad. Isi wants to go home; he misses his friends, his parents, his "aunts and uncles." He misses training with people who know him properly. He misses spending all night fixing up the play island for the younger kids. Hell, he even misses the idea of going off to college.]

I know, bud. I miss it, too.

When I first came back, you were still... injured. When she found out how I was related to everything, she pretty much demanded I be her new bodyguard. I didn't want to be some stranger's bodyguard and she just didn't get it. I told her if she could defend herself, she wouldn't need one anyway, and she kept acting like I was telling her she needed to go out and pick fights.

Oh, and I apparently made her cry on purpose and said it was her fault you got hurt. She refuses to listen to what I say and keeps insisting I meant to make her upset.

... sounds like Kira. She thinks the world revolves around her sometimes. She's been coddled by Mama and Daddy her whole life. They worry about... what happened to me happening to her. I keep an eye on her and protect her, but she thinks that males live to serve her. She's got Aden whipped like a fucking dog. Did he bitch at you too?

*thinks about that last bit*

... she's been really sensitive about what happened, because she doesn't really understand. She means well... she's just very quick to assume.

[He runs his hand over Shredder's spines absently, sighing.]

I do feel bad about it, but like hell I'm going to apologize. She doesn't see what she's done wrong. This is all my fault, and she even wanted an apology for it. When she apologizes to me, I'll apologize for snapping when she decided she wanted to sic Aden on me. But until then, I'm not going to give in just because she's being an idiot.

...so it's probably better if I don't go to the dinner things. I really don't want to ruin stuff for you guys.

I think that the fact that he took her side immediately was wrong. Did he even listen to anything you had to say?

He never acknowledges anything. If he has feelings at all, he doesn't show them. I still think, though, that you should come if you want. If you aren't uncomfortable, then you shouldn't.
