(no subject)

[In the shallows of the beach room's ocean is a rather large lizard. That would be because Isi and Shredder are hanging out there at the moment. While Shredder is in the water, Isi is leaning against a tree, eyes unfocused and a hard frown on his face. It's not long before the iguana pulls himself out of the water and heads up beside his owner, resting his soaked snout on Isi's thigh. The young man sighs and smiles tiredly down at Shredder, rubbing his thumb over the lizard's nose and the ridge over his eye. Both boy and lizard look a bit sad. Isi wants to go home; he misses his friends, his parents, his "aunts and uncles." He misses training with people who know him properly. He misses spending all night fixing up the play island for the younger kids. Hell, he even misses the idea of going off to college.]

I know, bud. I miss it, too.

[there's another beach room occupant nearby, sitting by himself and watching the waves crash up around his legs. he waves when he sees Isi, though!]

...hey, Sora.

[At least seeing the kid cheers him up a bit. Shredder's going to go say hello.]

Hey, Isi! Whatcha doin?

[pats Shredder's head in greeting; hello dinosaur!]

Just thinking.

[Shredder will nudge at Sora in his own hello~. Also being called a dinosaur is a total ego booster.]

[laughs at the nudge, flailing a little.]

Whatcha thinking about?

[His smile dies and he looks out at the water.]

My family.

Oh... You wanna go home, too?

Yeah. I like it here, but I miss my family and friends.

[Sora stands up, and reaches a hand up to Isi.]

Let's both go home, then! I can't keep my promise if I'm here.

...what promise is that?

[He's a bit concerned, and wonders if Sora realizes they wouldn't be going to the same home so they couldn't go together anyway.]

To keep Riku outta trouble!

[waves his hand up at Isi some more.]

...well, that promise makes sense.

[He's going to move to Sora, crouch down in front of him.]

But we wouldn't be able to both go home, if we went together.

[blinks.]

Huh? What do you mean?

My home might be Destiny Islands, but if we went to your home, it wouldn't be the islands I know.

Y'mean like how my Daddies can't go home with me?

Yeah, kiddo. Exactly like that. Sorry.

*Rikka's in a fairly okay mood today, mostly because Mama's been gearing up for a big bonfire on this very beach later; he'll come and sit next to you though*

[He's quiet for a while, trying to decide what to say. He doesn't want to ruin Rikka's mood any.]

...I don't think I'll be able to come to any of your family dinner things after all.

... why not?! There's one tonight!

*he thought you were his friend ;;*

I don't think your sister would appreciate it. I don't want to ruin your guys' dinner.

[He is! And he really wanted to go. :C But he doesn't want to deal with Kira accusing him of shit again.]

Well.. well... They'll always be my Daddies, just like you'll always be my friend, right? So it's okay!

... no one cares what she thinks, anyway. She just acts out illogically. What happened?

Yeah. And it's like I was always told growing up. No matter how far you are from your friends and family, they'll always be in your heart.

[pats his little chest.]

You'll go home one day, if you really wanna, Isi! An' I will, too.

When I first came back, you were still... injured. When she found out how I was related to everything, she pretty much demanded I be her new bodyguard. I didn't want to be some stranger's bodyguard and she just didn't get it. I told her if she could defend herself, she wouldn't need one anyway, and she kept acting like I was telling her she needed to go out and pick fights.

Oh, and I apparently made her cry on purpose and said it was her fault you got hurt. She refuses to listen to what I say and keeps insisting I meant to make her upset.
