(no subject)

[The sun is just beginning to set in the beach room, pink and orange clouds reflecting on the water far out to sea. There's a Kairi sitting just at the edge of the water, her legs pulled up as she hugs her knees, the waves occasionally brushing her toes. She watches the sun sink lower, her stomach twisting with nervousness and worry. And not because she's new in the DR - in fact she hasn't realised that yet.]

(ooc: New Kairi and Axel coming through. I am a horrible person. That is all 8D)

A spell? What are you talking about?

... oh. Are you new here?

[Blinks back.]

...No. I'ved lived in this town my whole life. What does that have to do with anything?

[she shakes her head]

This isn't Destiny Islands. You're in a room in a place called the Dressing Room.

Dressing Room? [She looks around, then back at Kira skeptically.]

The dressing room is a nexus between worlds. It pulls people from theirs worlds and universe and keeps them here.

[oh skeptical look is not good]

I can prove it, if you like.

[That just sounds kind of unbelievable... but it would explain the gliding.]

...It just looks like the beach.

The DR has hundreds of rooms with everything in them. Since we can't leave, we have to have places to go... sort of.

[she treks across the sand, puts on her shoes, then opens a door that's sort of standing in the middle of the sand... hello, hallway]

[She stares at the hallway through the door for a moment, before scrambling to her feet and approaching it, cautiously peering through.]

See? It's just the beach room. This is the DR. And you're from a world without magic, right?

[Just. Nods mutely, still rather stunned.]

I know it's a lot to take in, but it's all very real. Magic is real, other worlds are real. And here, you'll meet lots of versions of people that you used to know. For some reason, this place like to take people with the same face.

[thinks]

For me, you look like my Auntie Kairi. Or my Uncle Kai. Or the Kairi my older brother is with.

[Silent for a while, taking it all it.]

Is... are there any guys called Axel around?

Oh, there's plenty. But you have to be really careful around them.

[She almost seems to take offence to that.]

Why?

Well, you'll see a lot of people around here wearing these long black coats. That means they're members of Organization XIII, and they're usually all bad people. Most Axels here are members. If you see someone in a black coat heading for you, it's best if you run away as fast as you can.

...What, like a gang or something?

They're more like a group that wants to... well, mess up the worlds.

... and I'm pretty sure they were trying to kill a bunch of people to make them Nobodies.

Nobodies?

Oh! I forgot that you're not from a normal world. Uhm. Uhm.

[remember your history lessons Kira]

There's these monsters around here, called Heartless, and they're really nasty. If you see shadowy monster things with yellow eyes anywhere, run the opposite way and get help. If they catch someone, they'll rip out their Heart, and it'll become another Heartless. Got that so far?

[Blinks, before nodding slowly, still kinda weirded out.]

Right. Well, normally if you get your Heart ripped out, you just die, since you can't really live without your Heart. But there are people, strong people with strong Hearts, who just don't want to give up. So what's left of them, their Body and Soul, stays together and goes on, without their Heart.

They're called Nobodies.

...And Axel is one of them in - in your world?

He is in lots of worlds. Most of the Axels here are Nobodies.
