well, technically true. Kai's in the beach room today, dozing on a beach blanket and dressed in only a pair of swim trunks, with faint scarring on his stomach all that's left of the attack on his Gemini. he'd gone swimming earlier, just enjoying some alone time. after all, with all the shit that happened in August, making him miss having a proper birthday (as well as making Axel miss his), he figures he deserved some time to just relax. of course, now that he's had some of that time, he won't mind if he's woken up.]


(ooc: So he turned 18 last month. :V)

[yes, he's definitely watching his Light when Saix moves his hand. the... whatever that was greatly confuses him, but the fact that he's speaking at all makes him feel a little better. that means he's... healing or whatever, right?]

The gears are spinning slowly in his head, rusty, but working at their own pace--No, it's just a fleeting thought that arises every time he re-examines that image in his mind, nagging and pushing at him as if desperate to be understood. And... the gouging, not-so-fleeting ache caused from every time he re-examines that image is something Saïx can't conceal, letting his vacant expression sink into a hopeless frown. He murmurs once more, trying different words to process... to grasp... to appease that image.]

[he knows by now that Saix doesn't like being led, but sometimes it's unfortunately necessary. at least he does it as little as possible as they move slowly toward the water's edge, just the bare minimum required to get him to continue moving in that direction.]

[even if Saix goes back to being exactly the same, Kai can't help but want to help him so much right now. maybe it's because even if Saix is a jerk usually, this is just so unlike him that it feels incredibly wrong.]

, not only from the pain, but from rage, hopelessness, despair - all the range of emotions that those memories well up. It's too much to handle, an onslaught, and he can't do anything about it aside from writhe like an animal and scream on the sand.]

Saix!

[he drops beside him, panic taking over as he tries to figure out what to do. he's so used to helping soothe people with his Light that it's difficult to continue keeping it forced all the way down like he tends to have it around Saix now, but he manages, watching and wondering what the hell he's supposed to do. his hand hovers over Saix's back for a moment, wanting to at least place a comforting hand on him, something else to focus on, but that's probably not the best idea right now. so instead he moves it to smooth over Saix's hair where the other's own hands aren't, biting his lip and wishing he knew how to actually help.]

C'mon, Saix, come on, let's go...

[he tries to ignore the overwhelming urge to just hug him, knowing that will not end well with the Darkness rising. instead, he'll try to get Saix to stand long enough to start leading him away from the water, out of the room, or at least far enough to get him to calm down some.]

[he winces, pulling away for a moment. as much as he doesn't want to make things worse, he's pretty sure he has to before it'll get better. it's why he braces himself and moves to get a good hold on Saix so he can start pulling him toward the door. he knows he's going to get injured doing this, somehow, but right now the most important thing is getting Saix out of this room.]

[despite any danger, from Darkness or from flailing limbs, he's going to continue to pull Saix out of the beach room, only stopping once they're out in the hallway and letting go so he can shut the door and rest against it.]

[we'll say he's got a change of clothes in a nearby room, since he wouldn't have wandered the halls in just his swim shorts- he goes to change into those quickly, returning to settle down near Saix and wonder what to do. he's tempted to ignore the Darkness and pull Saix into a hug, just to see if it would help at all...]

[it hurts to just sit there and do nothing, so slowly, hesitantly, he'll reach over to carefully pull Saix into a loose hug. he's very careful about where he puts his hands, and makes sure the hug is loose enough that Saix could pull away if he wants to.]
