[in one of the garden rooms, it looks like someone decided to be an ass and completely trash a good portion of it. Kai is seated on a patch of fresh grass, surrounded by burnt and torn plants, paintbrush in hand. his right hand, what he normally uses, is in his lap. the paintbrush is in his left hand and he's concentrating rather hard on restoring the ruined flowers in front of him. it's difficult, as he's still getting used to using the "wrong" hand, and he fails to get the technique right a number of times before a couple of the flowers straighten weakly and attempts to bloom.]

... Ah. I see. [She gives a frown.]

It's alright, though. My other hand'll be fine in a while.

I could try a Cure on it...? [Well. She thinks she remembers how to do them.]

Thanks, but it just needs to heal on its own at this point. I've gotten plenty of Cures and potions and all that already. I appreciate it, though.

[Still frowning. That had to have been bad, she thinks.] I hope it does so soon, then.

[it was pretty bad, yeah. it doesn't even really need to be wrapped like it is right now, as long as he's careful, but there's a bit of potion soaked on the inside of the bandages to help things along slowly.]

[She's not sure what else to bring up on that subject. A bit of a change of one, then...]

By the way? How have you been getting along with, ah, Oathkeeper?

[he's happy for the change of subject.]

It and my rabbit get along awesomely, and it hasn't gotten into any trouble yet as far as I know.

[She laughs.] That's brilliant news! I'm glad to know it's working out for you. -Both of you. [Hee.]

I'm really glad, too. I'd feel pretty awful taking it in and then not being able to... I don't know, provide a suitable environment for it.

[A smile -] They're pretty hardy little things. I've had them visit all kinds of places and they've been alright.

I still feel like I'm going to do something- wrong, somehow.

I'm sure you won't. [She shakes her head.] You're the sort of person who does - this. [A point at the restoration attempts.] I can't see you getting things wrong with it.

I guess you're right. It's just... different. It's not like taking care of my rabbit, you know? So I worry.

Well. I guess I understand. I wish I had more advice, but there isn't really anything I could give...

It's alright. I just need to get over this feeling, I guess.

[She smiles, nods.] You'll do fine.

I hope so.

[Another smile; she sits back, looks up at the sky.]

[he's considering trying to do more work on the flowers, looking from his paintbrush to the rest of the garden thoughtfully.]
