[there's a scream from down this hallway as some poor soul is consumed by the shadows -- not Heartless, simply moving shadows. as the last dying gurgle escapes the writhing mass, a figure rises out of it slowly, darkness rolling and dripping off him like smoke and water. the figure is fully dressed in dark leather; heavy boots, pants, and a lovely leather jacket with a black wifebeater beneath it. he breathes the darkness in, out, a slow and dangerous smile making its way onto his face as he takes in the sight of the hallway. a hand goes to his pocket, a cigarette is pulled out and put to his lips, lit with a flick of his other hand. he runs that hand through his dark blue hair afterward, red eyes bright with malicious intent.]

Well now... didja miss me, dressing room?

[though it's odd that it's so quiet now. the cigarette smoke is making his nose burn, and he takes a step back to try to distance himself from it a bit. he really can't smell anything past it.]

[that makes him frown, not liking the idea of that at all. he won't mention asking Kai to put it out unless it gets too overwhelming, which it hasn't yet.]

[Riku has his cane out, fanning it from side to side automatically as he walks, one hand trailing along the wall to find when there's a door. he'll open them one by one, taking a step inside and listening hard for any sounds of someone breathing, and hoping he doesn't come across the scent of blood.]

[no, the hallway is eerily devoid of life, and even sound, aside from "Kai" lazily checking the rooms on the other side.]

[the lack of sound is unnerving to Riku, who depends on it as a way of telling what's going on. he's picking up more on the scent of darkness now too, being further away from that smoke.]
