[in a hallway just off the main area, Kai seems to have fallen. one hand is against the wall, nails almost digging into it. his other hand is pressed against his forehead, and he's curled over himself on his knees. his face isn't very visible, but he looks pained and like he's concentrating on something, eyes squeezed shut and teeth gritted.]

(ooc: Meditation didn't settle completely, he's trying to sort his memories. Go ahead and startle him, and prepare for massive amounts of confusion. 8D)

[grins a little in return, though he ducks his head.]

[derp room get; they weren't that far from it. disarms the traps and opens the door.]

I might have to steal that idea, then. There has to be somewhere around here where I could find that sort of thing.

[sets Apricot down inside the door, nudging him with a foot to get him to go in.]

I'm sure he'd like it.

[peeks into the room curiously.]

[has to think about this, then, along with _______ that he's been considering for a while now. C: leads him into their slightly messy room, with the hyena backpack hanging from a lamp, Axel's chakrams resting against the side of the desk, clothes scattered everywhere, lube sitting out on the bedside table, etc. looks at him hopefully.]

[he just looks around the room. it's a nice room to be sure, but it's not familiar, which would be why he's giving Axel a helpless look.]

[slumps a little, but smiles at him.]

Hey, don't worry, we'll figure something out. Even if that something ends up being just waiting it out, at least you're safe here. D'you want to go somewhere else now, orrr...?

I know we will. And I think I'd rather stay here for now...

[omg is it cuddle time.]

[scoops Apricot up again and goes to settle on the bed, settling the bunny down on the covers.]

[it definitely could be cuddle time. he certainly looks like he could do with some cuddles. heads over to the bed as well, still looking around.]

[ \o/!!! pushes the covers down with his feet and settles on his back, sprawling all over the place with a contented sigh. reaches over to tug on Kai's sleeve to get him to settle as well. c: ]

[settles down with a faint sigh, trying not to let things get to him too much.]

[puts an arm around him and snuggles him close.]

Don't worry about it, babe. Chances are, since this is just a memory mixup and not an actual body swap or whatever, the Kai on the ship isn't even affected by this. Which... doesn't actually help you, but it'll be reassuring to you later once you sort things out.

[snorts and presses his face against him.]

I see you're just as good at helping as the Axel back on the ship.

What's that supposed to mean, huh?

[turns the arm around his shoulders into a HEADLOCK + NOOGIE]

[flails augh.]

[noogienoogie-- tilts Kai's head to the side with a hand in his hair and blows a raspberry against his neck. :D ]

I help you lots. With patching you up after fights or whatever, and also with issues in your pants.

[ . . .oops. sobers, sighing a little.]

...yeah. You're a fairly popular target around here. I think it's the pure heart thing, plus you've just got a built-in magnet for trouble.

There are a lot more people here than you're used to dealing with. A lot more. And some of them are psychopaths. A few of them like to single you out if they encounter you. Some of it... has been pretty bad. But I've been teaching you how to fight, and you've got the stuff you've been learning on the ship, with Ammy.

Me too. I still wish stuff like that wouldn't happen, but we can't be glued at the hip all the time. I just wish I could protect you better. I always seem to get there too late to keep it from happening, and get to clean up instead.

There's an expression that goes "what doesn't kill you makes you stronger." Or something.

[grumbles and burrows against him.]

You're plenty strong from all of it. I've--

[cuts himself off, then realizes that Kai probably wouldn't remember later anyway. otherwise, Nami could be counted on to keep a secret, right? <3 ]

I guess it won't hurt to tell you. I've been working on coming up with a sort of... quick-release summoning jutsu, so even if I'm not around, hopefully you won't get hurt again. I'm hoping to have it ready by Christmas, but I've got more work to do on it, so I dunno if I'll make it.

[Nami will definitely leave this part, and the ring part out, no worries. he just smiles and places a kiss on the closest bit of Axel.]
