[it's not normal for him to be up in the rafters, but nothing has been normal for him as of late. he hasn't been eating and he hasn't been sleeping and it's obvious by the looks of him. with tired, semi-unfocused eyes, Roxas silently watches as people pass by underneath.]

[hesitates for a few seconds, and then jumps down, landing with a slight stumble. he stands there silently in front of Riku, just... waiting.]

[starts to answer, then stops himself. he probably can't get away with lying, not looking the way he does. his hair is disheveled and dark rings have already started to form under his eyes, and his skin is pale, too.]

... Thirty seven hours. Roughly.

[he's lost track of the time, but thank god for that five hour nap he took between the last stretch and now.]

[while Sora's just passing by below, a big bowl of water clutched in his arms. he's wearing a pale yellow sundress marked in pink flower embroidery along the bottom that sways while he walks.]

[it's the dress that catches his eye and separates Sora from all the others. Roxas watches silently, leaning forward a little to follow him with his eyes as he swallows.]

[he's standing on wobbly legs because the bowl is obnoxiously heavy, droplets of water spilling out here and there. at this rate, he'll probably make it to the room he's heading for with about half of what he has now.]

[it's not much of a debate and roxas hops down some ways behind sora with as much grace as he can muster, stumbling forward a few steps. he lingers, unsure if it's okay to approach him, and then does it anyway, reaching out to lightly touch his shoulder when he's close enough.]

[he heard the thump, yes, but he was too preoccupied with the water to turn around and see who it was. he doesn't expect a hand on his shoulder, jumping.]

R-Roxas! [dhjdsfj straightens up and tries to ignore the cold water spreading across the splatter that hit his chest.]

[moves around in front of him to help with the bowl. he smiles, awkward and small.]

[he doesn't try to take the bowl back but he looks a little uncomfortable, like he shouldn't even be talking to Roxas right now.]

[his eyes flicker from the wet spots all down the hallway to the darker spot across Sora's chest, and then up to the rafters. he probably should have just stayed there.]

[it's kind of like kicking a kitten but ten times worse. he sets the bowl down quick and tugs Roxas into a hug, silent.]

[it's surprising and not what he'd expect after receiving a look that made him feel like he should just disappear, but he's quick to wrap his arms tightly around Sora's shoulders, closing his tired eyes and burying his face in brown hair.]

[it's like a chain reaction, the punch in the gut for acting the way he did and then the utter guilt at realizing Roxas' current state. his eyes are brimming with tears when he looks up.]

[he's not sure he can find his voice, especially not now, so he just nods silently, his hold on him still as tight.]
