[Tifa's in one of the kitchens, humming happily to herself as she makes a sandwich. She decided that she's going to have a normal day today, no surprises...Too bad the dressing room likes giving people surprises...]

[Well, here is a surprise... Well, maybe not. But it is Sephiroth, and his face is so buried in his book that he didn't realize anyone else is around. ]

[A surprise indeed. Tifa turns to look at the person entering the kitchen. She gasps, completely forgetting her lunch as she takes her fighting stance, ready to defend herself should he try to attack her.]

[It is obvious that Sephiroth has means to cause you much harm as he continues reading, only to look up with a quirked eyebrow. ]

... [He doesn't seem to be reaching for a weapon... You seem familiar... ]

[She should seem familiar! He only destroyed her home town, killed her father, attacked her...You get the point, right? She's not dropping that fighting stance, but she doesn't say anything either. She just glares at him, waiting for him to do something.]

[Do something... Well, he just went right back to his book. He probably should remember, but his memory is chopped up and re-arranged. All of the acts of JENOVA sort of made him forget, or rather, not really remember small things like oh, trying to destroy the world. ]

[She blinks, confused. Why wasn't he trying to attack her? Could he be a different Sephiroth? She frowns again.]
You're, Sephiroth...Right?

[Oh, she can speak. ]

Yes.

[Ooh, so can he! She glares again.]
Do you remember me?

...

[He sat the book aside, looking her over... She seemed so familiar... ]

I...feel we have met.

[Tries so very hard not to lose her temper. Still glaring by the way.]
Think harder...It'll come to you.

[He stares some more... But nothing is really clicking... ]

... I'm sorry, I can not recall.

[Her eyes widen in surprise before turning very angry.]
So, does that mean that you dont remember what you've done done either?

[Ah... Perhaps she is someone that he also destroyed their lives. Terrible. ]

... I'm sorry. [It became a habit to start almost every conversation with 'i'm sorry'. Eve though he knew a Sorry could never fix everything he destroyed and everyone he hurt.. But he truly was. ]

[Glare becoming very hate filled.]
Saying sorry wont change anything!
[Might be thinking about attacking you now, though she's learnt to control most of her anger towards Sephiroth, she still hates him for what he did.]

[If she did attack, he certainly would NOT have attacked back... Again, he was use to it. He couldn't die, and pain was all mental... ]

I know.

[She turns around to face the bench again, looking at him makes her too angry. She takes a deep breath to try and calm down.]

...

[He wasn't sure what else to say. So he didn't try. He just went silent, looking off at seemingly nothing. He was in deep thought once again. ]

[After a moment of deep breathing, she glances at him over her shoulder, looking considerably less angry. She looks confused though.]
How can you not remember any of it?

My memory has been destroyed by Jenova... I can barely remember anything in my life..

[Zack.. That was the only positive thing he could remember in his life... The rest? Hojo, reading, loneliness, training... constant training... And then, blank. ]

[Then she cant really get angry at him anymore can she? Darn it...Her eyes widen and she turns to face him again, wondering what to say to that.]
...Maybe that's for the best. You're getting a second chance. Lucky you.
[She turns back to the bench to finish making her lunch.]
Trust me, some things are better off forgotten.

I don't deserve a second chance... But she will not let me die. My punishment is to live forever...and see the people who's lives i have destroyed. I will never know peace.

[...angsty, isn't he? But it's true. He couldn't die. And every time he ran into someone else he had hurt, it hurt him...a lot. ]

[She looks back at him. Gah, why is she starting to feel sorry for him???]
...Maybe you need to forgive yourself before you can find peace?
[Walks over to a cupboard to look for a plate for the sandwich.]

I do not deserve peace.

[All though he didn't truly recall the evil he had done, he heard enough from others to realize how terrible it was. ]

[She sighs, taking a plate from the cupboard back over to the bench.]
Do you regret what you did?
[Looks at him again.]

Every day of my life... I regret my existence.

[She watches him curiously.]
You cant change the past. You just have to keep going. If you want to find peace, I think you should try to forgive yourself.
[Walks over to get a cup out of a cupboard now.]

[Maybe he didn't want to forgive himself. That would make him feel even more guilty. Zack was the only one he seemed to open up to... or make him smile. But right now, he just felt...terrible. ]

[Glances at him again before taking a second cup out of the cupboard.]
Thirsty?

...

[He was tempted to say he doesn't deserve it... But, he probably doesn't drink enough, let alone eat. ]

Please.

[She nods and sets the two glasses on the bench before walking over to the fridge.]
Anything in particular you want?

Anything is fine...

[She nods and takes a jug of cold water out of the fridge, walking back over to the bench and pouring the drinks. She holds his glass out to him.]
Here.

... Thank you.

[Perhaps..it would help if he knew your name. But he was too ashamed to ask by this point. ]

You're welcome.
[She puts the water jug back in the fridge before taking her sandwich and drink over to the table. She pauses, a thought occurring to her. She glances at him again.]
Do you even know my name?

[He tried so hard to recall, but the only name that kept coming up was Aeris. And that was a shotgun topic he was sure. :| ]

I'm...Sorry, I don't.

[She sighs.]
My name's Tifa.
[She sits down at the table and takes a sip of her drink.]

Tifa..

[That seemed so familiar, and yet, Sephiroth still couldn't seem to make the connection. ]

...I have hurt you too.

[Her hand starts to go up to the scar on her chest, hidden by her shirt. But she stops herself and puts her hand back on the table.]
...Yes, you have.
[Is finding it a little difficult not to start blaming him for everything he did.]

I'm sorry.

[Even if you did blame him, he wouldn't get upset. He can't get upset. That emotion was sucked out of him as well. All he felt was regret... ]

I'm...so sorry. [To the point that all Sephiroth seemed to say these days were 'sorry'. ]

Don't worry about it. That was a long time ago.
[Decides to start on the sandwich now.]

[He can't not worry about it... He will always worry and dread what he did. ]

...

[She swallows the mouthful of sandwich before sighing.]
Seriously, forget about it. It's in the past, and I'd like it to stay there.
[Takes another sip of her drink.]

[Sephiroth made a small 'hmm' sound before also taking a sip. ]

[She nods and looks at him for a moment. She's still unsure whether she can trust him or not.]

[Well, he is use to not being trusted. So go on and be unsure. He seems to be focusing on his water. ]

[Fine, she will continue to be unsure then. She takes another mouthful of water.]
