[Someone's in the kitchen, trying to get the hand of this cooking business. Not something royalty is used to, but she figures she should learn.

Although, the smell of smoke is still a bit strong and there are several failed attempts in the trash. Not to mention a mess along the counter and sink.

But whatever is in the pan actually looks good.]

[She's not. Adds both creamer and sugar to dilute the intensity, and takes a sip. It's bitter to her, but the sugar makes it sweet at least.]

[Strong would be an accurate description. She's never really had coffee before anyway. Looks at him, a bit amazed he can drink it so smoothly without anything added.]

Do you usually drink coffee like that?

Mhmm. Sorry, I tend to make it a bit on the strong side.

I see.

[Shakes her head.]

Its okay. This is actually my first time drinking coffee.

Really? I figured it was pretty common, even in other worlds.

[Shrugs.]

Well there is coffee, but I never drank it.

[thinks back.]

Usually it was for all the working men or soldiers who needed caffeine.

I like the taste of it, but the caffeine is an important part too. I usually either stay up pretty late reading or all day practicing.

[She's interested.]

Practicing fighting?

I kind of... well I was living in the library for a long time. I recently got a room though. And I've been making sure to keep up with my combat practice.

Why were you living there?

[Remembers the time she found him worn out.]

I hope you're not training too hard though.

I guess I like reading a little too much. I just kind of slept on the couches for a while between books.

A friend of mine is making sure I don't push myself too hard.

I see.

[Chuckles.]

I've done that before.

[Nods.]

That's good. You looked really exhausted last time I saw you.

He said I'm no good if I'm too worn out from practice to actually fight. And he's right.

That's true...

[Frowns, drinking her coffee.]

But there's your general well-being too. Its not just about fighting. Don't forget that.

[trying hard not to lecture, but somehow she can't help but feel concern.]

I'll be fine. I've just got to pace myself so I don't do all the training all at once.

[Takes another sip.]

...do you get into fights often?

Not that often. But I like to be prepared.

[Frowns slightly but hides that behind the mug she's sipping from.

She hasn't seen any fights here yet, but there were a lot back home recently, which she's sick of honestly.]

Have you been okay?

Mhm. Pretty much.

[Surprisingly, she's had a hard time being alone and away from home, so she's grateful for any company she has.]

[Shakes her head.]

I found some closets and empty rooms before I realized I was lost.

[chuckles, amused at her own failures.]

But I did hear of a door that leads to the Black Pearl.

[Sounds kind of excited at that.]
