[ There is a Riku in this hallway. To be more exact, a Riku wandering in a hallway she does not live on, with her arms full of gifts. A jug of cold chocolate milk, to be exact, and a box. It's a normal, somewhat large, perfectly square box wrapped in shining red paper and tied with a black bow. Perfectly eerie. Her heart's beating a little faster than it should be, and it's making her annoyed. It's stupid! It's not like she's nervous, or has any reason to be.

She still takes five more minutes of pacing the hallway to gather her bearings, then she settles in front of a door several feet away from Red's and pulls out her phone to call him. Ring ring, birthday boy. ]

[She stuffs her hands in her pockets, trying not to look hopeful.]

How is it?

It's perfect.

[Yes, he really means that.]

[She smiles, in that case. It's a little warm, a little prideful, accomplished, and just a little relieved.]

Good. I had a taste-tester, but he's not you.

[You so cute, Riku. He's just going to sit on his couch and enjoy the fuck out of this cake!!!]

You did well, don't worry.

[She's going to sit down, too, ridiculously pleased that her plan worked out!]

Good. Like I said, I went through hell. Your older self is easy enough to deal with when he wants to be, but not when there are two kids and my older self there to interrupt.

Sounds... exciting.

[Read: extremely annoying.]

Two kids?

Kai and Axel's daughter. They were babysitting.

[She has been assuming it was planned and not because of the spell that hit yesterday, dear god.]

Oh, good. You almost had me worried they'd popped out another one.

[Those are some wide eyes she's staring at him with.]

I'd be afraid to know what would happen if they kept it up.

[Allow her to push up her sleeve and show off the bandage covering part of her arm.]

The hell happened there?

[He's staring at the bandage, frowning. WHAT DID OLDER ME DO TO YOU!!!]

Aden bit me.

[She's surprised it's not horribly infected.]

Bit you.

[What the fuck. Okay no, he can actually picture it, especially since he's got Halloween Town blood and HT kids are nasty as fuck, but he's surprised other him allowed it.]

I don't think he planned it. He wanted some of the bugs.

[She had batter on her arms. Who knew he liked blood and chocolate so much? Ha ha. D:]

That makes sense.

[He has his father's tastes, clearly.]

Yeah. His teeth hurt like hell, though.

[She's inspecting it again, just waiting to turn into a zombie or something. It won't even scar.]

You can't tell me you're surprised by that.

No, I just wasn't expecting it. Not in my arm, anyway.

[It was painful! How's that cake coming along?]

Yeah, that's a little odd. It's been cleaned and all that, right?

[Because knowing... well, himself, Aden's diet is probably pretty questionable when it comes to things that could infect Riku's injury-]

Immediately, yeah. It's a little worrying how much medical supplies they have stocked up.

[Just sayin'.]

It's good to be prepared.

Especially when you apparently need it.

[She tugs her sleeve back down though.]

[Also he's totally demolished that first piece of cake, for the record. And starting on his second.]

Yeah, but it's to be expected.

I wasn't surprised.

[She is so ridiculously happy to see that. He has no idea how pleased she is.]

[Yeah he'd probably never guess! This whole thing is a little bizarre, if one thinks about it. Riku baking something for Red and all.]

I'd hope not.

[Well, gosh, she's known him for a while! It's not that bizarre. I-It's not like she likes him for anything.]

I'm going to get something to drink.
