Just another piece of that always fragmented dream...

[She has finally settled snugly into her room, hiding from the cold under her covers, sketching quietly and contently. It's been a while she's she's attended to her art, and for not so enjoyable reasons. Thankfully, she has fresh bandages on her arms and legs, and has made sure to lock her door, lest any unwelcoming figures come to disturb her peace of mind.

She yawns a little. A couple of nightmares have been keeping her up the past few nights, and has never been able to compensate her loss of sleep. Maybe now she'll get her peace and quiet.]





[ooc: or not (*bother*). wouldn't be too surprised if one or two knew how to get past locked doors here. hm?]

[he hates to wake her up, but if the nightmare is worse, he'll have to risk it. shakes her awake a bit with his free hand that's not holding her hand.]

[Is jolted awake by the sound of him yelling.]

Wh..wha...

[She's sitting up slightly now, breathing hard with a somewhat bewilered expression. Her body is still trembling and she slightly withdraws from him, looking down. She opens her mouth, as if to say something else, but apparently can't. It's the typical reaction after every nightmare she's been having recently.]

You okay?

[wow, she wasn't kidding. she's still grasping his hand by the way.]

[Realizes so, and immediately lets go and withdraws her hand, a little embarrased.]

I-I...[Nothing else comes out of her mouth. She doesn't seem okay mentally, although she tries to take a deep breath, which is pretty shaky.]

[quickly turns away into a portal--

--a few seconds later reappearing with a glass of water and handing it to her]

[At first reaches out for the glass of water, but it trembles too much, so she tries to calm down. After getting her breathing rate to somewhat normal, she nods gratefully and accepts the glass, taking a sip. She stays kind of silent for a while.]

[Suddenly] I-I'm sorry...f-for this...

[sits down on the chair, watching her]

It's fine. Feeling better?

M-mhm. [Nods a little, taking another slip.]

[She lets out a heavy sigh. The dream seemed to be worse that time. The thinnest smile appears on her lips.]

Actually, I was reluctant to because you still lacked sleep.

[Sheepish shrug. She smiles a little, regaining her normal composure.]

I guess you can see it's kind of pointless for me to sleep too often in this kind of state.

[Shakes her head.] Don't worry too much. I'll be fine.

[Gives him a reassuring smile.] It'll go away eventually, right?

Hope so. I know what it feels like to be haunted by dreams.

[She draws her knees up to her chest and buries her face in them, wrapper her arms around her legs. No matter what, she can't deny she's still tired a little at least. Hears him and looks up.]

If it's okay to ask...what kind of dreams did you have?

...dreams that remind me that I'm not supposed to exist, and that I'm nothing but an empty shell.

[looks at the floor.]

[Swings her legs over the side of the bed, and plants her feet on the floor, still sitting, looking at him.]

You...mean...someone else's dreams?

[Frowns.]

[Tilts her head a bit.]

[Frowns...doesn't know what to say. It's one thing to be afraid of being attacked by someone. It's totally different when your fear is just fading away by being near them.]

I guess...[As she tries to finish that sentence, she's hit with another drowsy spell, her eyes drooping suddenly.]
