applause applause, no wait wait -

[there is an Axel lying on the floor. Whether he's unconscious or dead is anyone's guess.

There is also another Axel standing near him. This one's probably more noticeable, with his dark crimson eyes and pure white Organization coat. He nudges the other Axel in the ribs with a boot.]

Rise and shine. I'm not gonna wait on you all day.

[both Axels are still here, though the one on the floor has sat up, his breathing shaky as he tries to adjust to life again. Something black not unlike blood dots the floor near him in small splatters. His Gemini is sitting on the arm of a nearby couch, looking pretty bored.]

(OOC: Remember him, guys?)

[has made his way to the kitchen - has the sink running, snapping his fingers to whatever he has blaring through his headphones.]
[slides over to the fridge and opens it, takes out a coke and closes the door with his hip - snaps his fingers once more and some of the water from the sink shoots up in a swirling fountain, cracks open the can as the water spirals around him]

[opens eyes as he turns, smile fades at the sight of Axel and the water splashes to the floor] .....

[just quirks an eyebrow at that, his arm on the doorway for support. He should probably do something about those headphones, but walking is somewhat difficult for him right now. He settles for a almost hesitant wave.

Gemini-Axel has no such problem, however. He casually ducks underneath Axel's arm and strolls into the kitchen. By the time Axel can react to his appearance, he's already finished looking over Demyx.]

This just keeps getting more pathetic.

[yanks one of the earbuds out with a scowl.]

Look, Axel, it wasn't funny the first time, it's not gonna be funny now.

And now what, you have your little friends joining in? That's just great. Yeah, have fun with that. [turns around, has a gulp of his soda, looking ticked]

[looks at the Gemini-Axel, who just shakes his head and smirks, and then back at Demyx.]

What're you talking about? This isn't whatever the Axel from your world pulled on ya. I don't even know this guy. [feels like he should though...]

[tightens his grip on the soda can until it makes a popping noise - quivering a bit and staring directly at Axel - hates being toyed with like this.]

Fine then, smartass. Prove it.

I'll save him the hassle of having to. I don't associate with traitors.

[glances over at his Gemini] And that really goes a long way into explaining why you're following me around.

[laughs cynically] Don't sound so F-L-A-T-T-E-R-E-D there. I'd've killed you already while you were passed out if it wasn't for a little glitch.

[summons a chakram in a blaze of white fire much, much faster than any normal Axel could. His form seems to flicker in and out of existence as he raises it up to throwing height before he lowers it again, spinning it around nonchalantly as Axel watches it warily.]

That? Yeah. Ruins the fun. Happens whenever I'm too far away from you too.

[turns his attention to Demyx] I don't know him. I don't want to know him.

[listens to them, eyebrow arched, still holding his soda while the sink's running.]

[looks down at the floor for a moment and swallows - false hope still hurts just as bad now as it did a month ago.]

[turns and shuts the water off, leaves his soda on the counter and heads for the doorway, past the gemini-Axel - just the original Axel in his way now.]

[looks at him] D'you mind...? [motions for him to move out of the doorway so he can pass]

Oh, here we go.

[ignores the Gemini-Axel, not moving out of the way] Yeah. I do.

[looks away] It's almost funny. The way you're acting right now, you could be Rox when he first showed up here.

[slowly frowns, eyes wide as he realizes...]

[hesitates]

...Axel?

[glances back up and manages a slight smile]

Yeah. I've been trying to tell you that for the last five minutes.

[staring, jaw is a bit slack] ....

[smile breaks out on his face] ...You're here.

You're actually here.

[stares a bit more, smile grows wider, disbelieving laugh, grabs his shoulders] I can't b-... You're-... [furrows brow just a bit] But why?

[pauses] ... Tell me later. [takes Axel's face in his hands and kisses him]

[moves from the doorway, clasping his arms around Demyx as he returns the kiss, albeit somewhat gingerly, mindful of what strength he has left and the taste of his own blood.

He breaks off the kiss and laughs slightly.] You said you'd be fine without me.

I lied. [hands around Axel's face, brushes some hair away and kisses his cheek and jawbone repeatedly, making his way back to his lips to kiss them quickly before pausing- he tastes... blood?] ....

[looks at him] You're hurt, aren't you... Tell me what happened.

He died.

[Gemini Axel is clearly not pleased about having to stay near his twin.]

[looks over at the gemini and back to Axel - stunned.]

...[takes his hand and squeezes it]

[pulls him over to the table, sits down] Explain.

[pulled along and sits down as well, but he seems a bit reluctant to talk about...well, his own death.]

There's really nothing to explain. A bunch of stuff happened, I died.

[scoffs from where he's seated on a counter]

Think you left out a few parts, traitor.

[grim expression, nods slowly] ... You don't have to tell me now.

[disturbed - never thought he'd see Axel again on these circumstances.]

You don't look so good... [gets up and walks across the table to him, touches his face and looks worried]

[smiles slightly at the touch but brushes Demyx's hand away]

Yeah, dying isn't as restful as everyone makes it out to be. I'll be fine after I get some sleep.

[slight sympathetic tilt of the head with his usual adoring smile - it's been a while.] ...Okay.

[opens a portal in the wall, to the attic - glances at Axel's gemini] Ah... What about him? [motions over at him, a bit confused]

[stands up, giving a disdainful look over at his twin, who just sends it right back at him as he gets off the counter and opens a portal of his own - presumably leading to somewhere near (but not in) the attic.]

Yeah, don't worry. I can't exactly run out on you like you did with XIII.

[surprise flickers over Axel's face at those words, but he makes his way over to Demyx's portal and disappears into it without a retort - something's on his mind. Similarly, Gemini-Axel vanishes into his own.]

[confused frown... What did that mean?]

[concerned, watches the gemini leave before he follows Axel through the portal]
[the attic's dark and hasn't been entered in weeks, but it's still the usual, familiar place - the only signs of recent activity are some burnt matches left on the floor and the sheets are crumpled]

[turns a few lamps on and turns to Axel, smiling in the dim light] ...Does it feel any different? Being dead, I mean.

[crumpled sheets or not, the bed has acquired +1 Axel]

Not really. Can't walk through walls or anything.

[the tick-tock's fallen silent though. That feels a little weird.]

[sticking quite close, snuggles next him and looks up to watch his face]

[quiet laugh - he was right, he did miss Axel's sense of humor] Oh well - that would've been cool, but I'm glad you're not too different... [pauses, silent for a moment]

I don't hear anything. [slowly grins - It worked. Not just as planned, but... now the timeframe's finally gone.]

Yeah. Always had a feeling they'd overestimated the time a bit.

[nods just a little, clinging closely - hadn't forgotten how warm Axel was; would be more than content to stay like this forever]

[speaks quietly, eyelids heavy with a thoughtful smile] ...'Missed you.
