[Much like the others hit with the spell, this Riku isn't happy. Okay, maybe that's an understatement--he's pretty angry. He's not so concerned about the inability to form portals or even produce the smallest spark of Fira magic, but he can't call his weapon either--that's what bothers him the most. All things he's pretty sure are results of the symbol burned into his shoulder.

Riku's been hanging out in an empty hallway, debating whether or not he wants to find anyone else and see if they're affected. But it seems like a bad idea for some reason.

(ooc: Pretend this is happening in the afternoon instead of the evening.)]

[He looks at Riku curiously, moving to help pick up the fallen clothes. His shoulder twinges a little, but he's not sure if it's actually hurting or just sympathy pains.]

What's wrong?

You told me not to ask.

[There's an awful lot of pants compared to shirts, and many of the clothes have a faint burned scent to them. They're not even his size, clearly belonging to someone taller.]

[Ew, the clothes have Axel cooties on them. He pauses as he's picking up one of those pairs of pants.]

...What? I didn't mean that literally.

[There's quite a few that are clearly for sleeping in, and if he isn't careful he may come across a questionable stain or two. Riku tries again, but with the same result.]

... I can't say it.

Can't say it or don't want to?

It simply won't come out.

That doesn't make sense.

[Wait.]

[There isn't even a pause from him this time.]

Do you think the problems with our powers and your teams idea have anything to do with each other?

Yes. I can't say exactly how, but I'm pretty sure that we're supposed to be paired with each other.

[You're on the receiving end of a suspicious look, Riku.]

How did you do that?

[Onoes. Oh look, ~~fake~~ innocence.]

[Fine, he'll keep his suspicions to himself. He still looks suspicious, but simply shakes his head and takes those pants from Riku.]

Nevermind. I can't be paired with you. I already belong to someone else.

I know. But you may as well belong to me if you're forced to follow any commands I give.

[Any less suspicious now?]

[He goes still, his heart skipping a nervous beat before he forces himself to move again. He isn't looking at Riku, and other than that pause, there's no visible reaction to his words.]

I see.

I'm not going to make you do anything unless I have to.

[He's nit 100% sure if he's right anyway, but he's not saying that.]

Even if you do, there's not much I could do about it, is there?

[He sounds more resigned than anything. Into a washer those clothes go; thankfully there's more than one set in the room.]

True.

[He'd probably trade Riku if he could, if only because he'd feel slightly less useless. He doesn't have any clothes to wash, so while Riku's doing that, he's going to be assessing the damage to the one dryer.]

[It looks pretty banged up, with a gaping hole in the side of it that's still smoking. If it had been a person they'd definitely be needing some help.]

[Most definitely. He is poking at that hole with a plastic hanger, just in case the smoking part is capable of burning. ~~Feel free to push him into the dryer since he's distracted.~~]

[Once the clothes are set to washing, he's at a bit of a loss for something to distract him. ~~As if he would even fit into one.~~]

So we're paired together, and you can control me. What do we do now?

[He's ignoring the 'control' part.]

Beats me. Maybe we should go see what's going on with everyone else. Was there something specific you wanted to do?

I want to go back to Axel and Kai, to see if one of them knows what's going on.
