[miserable Kairi is miserable, just kind of...lying on one of the couches and staring up at the ceiling.]

[ooc: I would like to let it be known that this is all Mega's fault.]

Kairi, what's wrong?

[identity profile] crushedchains.livejournal.com 2008-07-29 08:56 pm (UTC)(link)
It sure doesn't look like nothing.

Maybe you should take some medicine, then. Or at least have a drink of water.

Still, you sure you're okay?

[he's kinda...watching]

[miserable Kairi shouldn't be miserable, this Kairi thinks. she knows all too well what it's like to be miserable, anyway. she has a little worried look on her face as she walks over, and she sits on the very edge of the couch, making sure that damned tail (http://community.livejournal.com/crackorata/5540.html?thread=384676) of hers is out of the way.]

Hey, you seem down. Do you... want to talk about it?

[identity profile] cattus-femina.livejournal.com 2008-07-29 08:51 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh. [nods and smiles a little.] That's understandable, then.

[isn't leaving yet, nope. she hasn't managed to have a decent conversation with 'herself' yet, so she's hoping for something better this time around. maybe.]

[identity profile] cattus-femina.livejournal.com 2008-07-29 08:59 pm (UTC)(link)
Hm? Oh, you really didn't have to move. I was just thinking about something. Though I can leave if you want me to.

Well, as long as you don't mind...

[she adjusts herself on the couch so she's sitting straight against it and her legs are drawn up toward her. a bit of a defensive position? of course. she's still getting used to everything around her, and in some ways she can't help but think that the amount of trustworthy people here is less than the amount in the mafia city she grew up in. she's quiet, though, trailing one of her sharpened fingernails up and down her leg in a straight line as she thinks.]

It's all good, bb. ♥

[aaaaaand she finally looks up and says something.]

I'm just curious, and you don't have to answer if you don't want to, but... how did you grow up? Like... what was it like to be where you were?

Reggio Calabria, the mafia city of Italy. That place is all I can remember, really. I've been there since I was seven, and there was a really nice couple that adopted me. [smiles a little.] They taught me the things I needed to know themselves, protected me, and still let me have a normal life. Things were great for a long time, up until I was around fifteen. [her smile fades.] They... just disappeared one day, so I had to live on my own. I think one of the mafia families did it. Or maybe an assassin was just doing their job.

I didn't really talk to much of anyone after that. I was afraid I was going to lose them if I got too close, because it just seemed to happen to me anyway. But when I turned eighteen a few months ago, I finally started to get back out there and socialize. Though, somewhere along the line between my birthday and now, I sort of ended up with one of the most unsavory jobs a girl could ever get.

[shrugs.] But hey, when you need the money, you have to be able to do anything.
