My people. We were once many, but we were betrayed and murdered by the humans.

You should be wary of them, little one. Likely they will betray you as well.

Humans serve only themselves. Daily they shoot your own people in your homeland, and sell their skins as clothing. It is not even food, nor part of the cycle, it is for their own arrogance and greed. They slay the elephant and leave the corpse to rot, taking only the teeth; they slay the lion and take his skin for their women to wear. It is not even a matter of pride.

So for greed. For arrogance. And becuase they do not understand.

Well, I don't know what gargoyles are like in your world, but in mine their pretty hell-bent on killing people like me, and it's the same with vampires.

In my world, most Gargoyles are fools who would protect humans. Usually they end up protecting those humans from their own stupidity. And what do the humans do but act like you, turning around and calling us demons. Or murdering us while we slept.

So I decided to turn around and live up to the name.
