[what a familiar sight-- for him, at least. he's standing in the bathroom with his sleeve rolled up, a box cutter covered in blood set aside and several pretty little cuts on the bottom of his wrist. he's just watching as the blood dots the sink.]

I found the box cutter in a closet.

And of course your first thought is making yourself bleed.

Unless you got an infection and then you might not have a wrist to screw around with.

[grumbles it, crouching in front of a cabinet to drag out the first aid kit, even if his brother won't appreciate it at all]

Someday you're gonna have to explain this shit to me, because it's...I can't figure it out.

[looks surprised by that and even hurt, but that hardens over quickly enough and he gets up]

[just goes back to carving, shuddering as he breathes.]

I don't know. It just does, so I do it.

[s-so curious, wings pressed back so they don't hit anything]

What if you cut too deep?

Then I bleed more. It doesn't hurt enough. I barely feel pain, just pleasure. It's mainly shock and instinct to shrink away and say 'ow' for me, but it rarely hurts.

How strange.

[looooooking closer at the cuts- he expects something to be wrong, for the boy to just cut away]

[shoves them at his face, then, but not close enough to get the blood on him.]
