Point of Order!
[Pizza, sodas, chips--it's certainly college student food, minus the liquor that is--but it's not needed for what Axel has planned. He's set himself up with a circular rug in the middle of his room, tossing pillows around the perimeter. Tonight he's got a card game in mind--and a rather vicious one that that, providing you don't know the rules. But that's sort of the point, isn't it? Initiate the new ones roughly, and all those trained in the art earn a good laugh.
Tonight was Mao.
So he set things up and tacked a notice on his door to advertise the whole ordeal. And hopefully...hopefully Luxord would show up with a few friends and they could get the ball rolling.]
I am the King of Mao and thus the game has ended!
The game is Mao. If you know it or is you don't--you're probably in the same boat. These may not be the rules you know.
And though you're technically not supposed to explain any of the rules of Mao (Rule Number One! You don't discuss the rules of Mao! Rule Number Two! You don't talk about Fight Club!), here are some good hints;
It's a little like Uno. Get rid of your cards. If you can't drop one, draw until you can drop one.
Every one of Axel's actions will be given in detail. Pay attention. This may come in handy
But here comes how the game will run;
Over here in the real world, I'm going to take a deck(possibly two, if the number of players in big enough). I'll set aside seven cards(a hand) out for each player. Each player will be informed what their hand is. Please keep your posts updated with your hands. This is simply for your own reference and mine.
As well, I will check what the next few cards are in the remaining draw-pile and post them in an (ooc:) message. This serves so that characters can draw a card without having to refer constantly back to the dealer-character. Every so often, the dealer will release the next few cards in waiting in similar statements, so that gameplay may go unhindered.
The game will continue until everyone gets bloody sick of it (usually the case), or someone runs out of playable cards. In the case of an emptied hand, the winner creates a new rule, whom he tells only one other, and the game continues. Or in the case of everyone being absolutely sick of said game, the new rule is created, but play is suspended until a later date.
And hopefully...hopefully this should all work! Consider this game a test run! :)

10club, 2diamond. That'll do. He plays it.]
Point of order! [Axel immediately puts his cards face down in front of him, pulling his hands away from them like the cards've got the plague.]
Sora, can you pass the two-liter? I can't reach from over here.
[ooc: Axel's hand
Spades: J, 2

--consider what I called and what I did... Not much else I can tell you. The game's a lot of putting two and two together.
There's a lot of copying involved. If I do something, take a good long look at what I did. You'll probably have to do it sometime as well.
Buut...I guess I can let this rule slip. --just to make things easier, you know.
'Point of Order', call it and all cards have got to hit the ground and all hands come off. [he eyes Sora's card] --so I'd suggest you both drop 'em before I penalize you again.
--but once the Point-of-Order is called, you can talk again, when it ends, we go back to playing. ANYONE can call a Point-of-Order and it's best when you're going fast and lots of people start calling. It's hilarious when people get confused and can't figure out whether to hold their cards or drop them. Lots of extra penalties that way.
[He goes and grabs a box of pizza off the bed and noms a slice, keeping the box close so anyone can reach.]
Any more questions? [pours himself a cup of soda and takes a swig]

... Are all card games like this?

And suddenly, Axel doesn't feel like that huge of a looser for having so many cards anymore.]
[ooc; Drawpile top 5: 9diamond, 3 diamond, 4spade, 5 club, 8club--draw from there again if necessary XD]
