(a Namine in her early-to-mid twenties walks in carefully. she's got a cast on her left arm, and has several large bruises just on the edge of healing, and obviously just came from a hospital, what with what she's wearing. she glances around nervously, and gulps)

R-Roxas? Where am I?

((Namine based of the film The Rainmaker. She is married to Marluxia, who is abusive. Recently, she went to the hospital with a broken arm, and several other injuries. There she met Roxas Baylor, and idealistic up-and-coming lawyer. She's been meeting him daily at the hospital she's at.))

Oh no, don't tell me I timeslid...!

(blink blink)

Ti-Timeslid? What are you talking about?

(she glances around nervously)

Where-where am I?

You know, timeslide? When--

[and she breaks off, eyes going wide.]

You mean-- you lost--?

[no. nonononono this cannot be happening. she'd never--]

Lost what?

(she's confused. does this have something to do with Marluxia?)

[swallows before whispering it]

...your wizardry.

Don't you remember? Even if it just seems like a kids' game now?

Wizardry? I don't know what you mean...

(she's searching her brain for something that would make sense of this, but nothing comes. )

[just staring now]

...No.

Dammit, Nami, think. Please. You have to remember...

(she flinches. domestic abuse victim, so yelling directed at her makes her nervous)

I-I don't know wh-what you're talking about! Who-who are you?

[o-oh lord, this is... so weird.]

...I'm Kairi. Your sister?

... Your name is Naminé, right?

[and, uh, there's a little laptop nudging your leg, looking up at you with eyestalks the latest Macbook definitely doesn't have.]

(she nods)

Yes, my-my name's Namine, but I don't have a sister...

(she looks down, assuming it's a dog, and nearly jumps out of her skin)

What-what is that?!

[muttering to herself] Alternate universes? But there aren't different versions of the same people--

[and she looks a bit amused at Naminé's reaction] That's just Spot. He's a friend of mine, he won't hurt you.

Oh, okay...

(she's glancing around nervously now. this whole thing has her nerves shot. what if Marluxia is here? she shivers at the thought)

You okay?

[sister or no sister, Kairi's still a wizard- "I will guard growth and ease life..."]

(she shakes her head, no)

H-Have you seen a tall man, in his late twenties with shoulder-length reddish brown hair? He-he wouldn't be very happy...

(she bites her lip. he came to the hospital, he could come here, right?)

[shaking her head, too]

I just got here- I haven't seen anyone besides you.

[and unfortunately she's a smart wizard] He-- [swallows again, not wanting to say it in case she's right]

(she nods)

He...he's my husband...

(she rubbing the cast with her good arm, nervous. she's never had the courage to speak up, so she can't even get out the word 'yes')

... oh, Lord. [softly]

I'm- I'm not sure what this place is, but if he's here too and he comes anywhere near you, I'll stop him. Okay?

(most people who know about it have ignored it, so this is truly touching gesture. she smiles, a bit weakly though)

Thank you. That-that really means a lot to me.

[ooc: FFFF guess who just slept for 18 hours]

'Course. [smiles back]

(she smiles)

I wish that you were my sister, you seem nice.

Hi big-Namine.

Are you Roxas's brother?

(now she's nervous, does Roxas have a brother, or is he his son? she was pretty sure that Roxas wasn't married...)

Nope, I'm Roxas.

But Roxas is my age.

(she's so confused. if he didn't look so much like Roxas, she'd assume that he just shared names, but...

[abuse victims unite. he gently touches her unharmed arm with a kind smile. he's only about sixteen.]

Th-this is a-a r-room w-with... l-lots of p-p-people f-from d-different dim--dimensions. D-do you n-n-need h-help?

Yes. Is-is Roxas here?

U-um... th-there's l-lots here. Wh-wh-which are y-you lookin' f-for?

He-he's my age, and he's a lawyer.

U-um... w-well, I s-s-saw some o-older R-r-roxases here, b-but I... I d-d-don't th-think th-they're l-laywers...

I hope he comes...

(there's an unspoken I miss him already)

[he touches her hand with both of his now, smiling reassuredly.]

E-e-even i-if he d-d-doesn't, th-there'll be p-p-people t-to t-take c-c-care of y-you. Y-y-you d-don't need t-to worry!

(she smiles)

Thank you.

[he nods a little and lets go of her hand.]

A-are you o-okay? N-n-need somethin' t-to eat o-or...?

Yeah. I was about to have lunch. S-something to eat would be nice.

(she's feeling a lot better now)

[so he's starting to lead her to the kitchen, rubbing one of the bandages on his shoulder.]

Are you okay?

(he's been so nice, so she's worried that, well, he may be in a similar situation to her.

[blink.]

Y-yeah, th-the w-wound's j-just st-st-stinging a l-little. I'll b-be fine.

(she nods)

I hope it gets better soon.

Oh what do we have here?

(she starts, and stares at this person, unsure as to who she is)

Who-who are you?

[he looks quite amused at that reaction]

Not the little boy I remember. You don't recognize me at all~?

(she shakes her head)

N-No. Do y-you know m-my husband?

--husband? [he laughs; it isn't an entirely pleasant sound]

I'm afraid not~ Why don't you tell me his name?

(whoever this is, he's scaring her)

M-Marluxia.
