.........Am I Too Lost To Be Saved?........

{ Practicing his ASL ( American Sign Language ) in a mirror.......~~and trying to stop unconsciously chewing on the collar of his shirt because he's -supposed- to be mouthing the words~~... within the study Roxas had taken a liking to. It's a bit awkward balancing the book he's reading from while making the gestures, but remaining cross-legged upon his claimed desk-top offers a bit of ease.

More like now folded over his book, beginning to doze as soon as Roxas was left alone. ]

[Tromps in looking rather dead, for a moment, not even noticing the other--far too absorbed in finding a book that he needs.

--which he should really be looking for in the library, but he's tired and this is closer. And oh--Oh! There's Roxas!

Axel turns and grins weakly.]

Hey there, Wonderbread. How's life?

[Turns around to face the other, fingers weaving out several sets of invisible letters a bit faster than his first few goes. After a heart-beat or two he translates.]

Pretty good. Picked up an old habit of mine thanks to someone here.

[Realizes how that sounds and makes an addendum.]

Took some signing courses back in the day. It's rusty, but coming back.

[Chuckles, though finding that his book on 'motherhood' isn't around, settles on chilling here for a moment with Roxas]

Sounds cool. [trying to be all macho] I'm pretty good at reading lips, you know. Little rusty myself, but I can still pull through most of a conversation.

[He doesn't mention though, that he nearly got himself killed today, fighting some crazy bald man. He will mention though about his room.]

--settled in today. Found a room for myself...pretty nice. Got a roommate and a pet and everything now...

I'm sure lip-reading comes in handy for you...

Congratulations on getting the room situation perfected to your liking.
Even if that kind of thing never really appealed to me, it's good to hear someone else enjoys it.

[ Doesn't even go into the fact it's due to Roxas never trusting himself to be left alone....and incessantly denying regular sleep outside small cat-naps in Namine's garden greenhouse. ]

[Shrugs] Don't really get to use it much. But whatever--guess I just gotta get back into the swing regardless. Useless talents are usually the best.

[leans back against a wall, yawning a bit]

But the roommate thing's going pretty well. He's just a kid, but it's sort of like looking after the baby brother I never had. [chuckles]

A lot of the younger ones here could use someone to look up to, that's for sure.

[Pauses in skimming his text book.]

Mmmm. By the way, I wanted to ask-
Someone heard thorough the grapevine that you had a talk with the Axel I used to hang around.

[Merely observes with a hint of curiosity, leaving the other to fill in any blanks.]

[It's rather hard for him to hide his deer-in-the-headlights look--he's exhausted.]

Yeah. So?

What if I did?

[Back to signing in the mirror, though he can still clearly observe the other.]

Hm..
He's a good guy, and I think you'd like him-
If the two of you got to know one another.

[One Axel is already one Axel too many. He knows he'd hate living with himself and really can't understand why anyone else would want to.]

Eh--I'm a busy guy these days. [Which was a total lie.] You think he can keep up with me?

I- didn't ask you to..[Makes frantic motions with hands]..pursue him.

[Calm. Interprets things in all the wrong ways.]

[The last tidbit wasn't entirely a request no matter how gently it comes out, even it's not like this Roxas to bully, push or command. His concern is simply that he returns the favor he owes, that's all. .........Sort of. ]

Anyway, you look like you need take some time for yourself.
Or a vacation from this 'vacation'.

[Feels rather guilty for not looking out for the one person who is actually from his universe....and has a pang of responsibility. He's not exactly acted like the welcome wagon to this guy- unless a chair to the gut counts.]

I think I'm going to grab something from the kitchen....

[Time to himself--god, stuck here--he was going to have nothing BUT time. It was already hell. He was trapped with no outs,stuck with people he didn't know or care about, spare for the kid in front of him. Maybe...maybe tomorrow he'd just sleep in all day.

Nah, I'm good...I've gotta be passing out soon anyway. All this wear and tear gets to a guy [chuckles and straightens up a bit]

[chuckles and wobbles on out. It's been a long, long day. He deserved every ounce of sleep he gets.]
