.. [buries his face in his hands because he literally can't look at Axel right now] .. he said he'd figure something out. I believed him.

Unless the other Roxas believes in polygamy I don't think he's going to have much luck.

[regards him for a long moment] Why?

[looks up at him again with something in his eyes - maybe something a little broken - and that something is the only answer Axel's really going to get]

....I get that. And it's not like I blame you. But what made you think picking a guy who'd already gotten with someone as the next best thing would end well?

.... it wasn't like- I just wanted- [abruptly cuts himself off, head in hands again, and it's very obvious that this moment right now is the calm before a very violent storm] It's not fair.

It's called desperation, Roxas. You believe whatever justifies whatever you're doing.

[doesn't look angry, per se, but more...stern. almost disapproving] I know what you want. And believe me, if you find some way to get it, then that's good. But that doesn't mean you shouldn't stop and think about it first.

[actually has the gall to glare at him for that, though it's only a half-hearted sort of thing; he knows Axel is right]

... I'm not a complete idiot, Axel. I stopped things before they got .. too far.

At least you came around eventually.

[rubs his eyes, tired] You know I'd offer if I could.

It may come as a shock to you, but I still have morals to speak of.

[his expression crumples and he just looks down, hands balling into fists and everything about him screaming bitterness] Don't even start, because we both know you can't. Just don't.

[a very quiet sigh] I know. But tell me what you want, anyway. Tell me so I don't murder whoever can give it to you.

[lets an iota of the tension drain out of him at that, silent for a long moment before he meets Axel's eyes again]

Him. If he manages to figure it all out.. then him.

[breathes in once, very slowly] Alright. But here's hoping you can make it work without ruining things for anyone else again.

[one short, humorless laugh] How's this for irony? It doesn't look like the twin will be showing up any time soon. It'll be me all by my lonesome while you finally get some relief.

... that's what I'd want.

[stares at him, expression blanking for a moment before he frowns, troubled by that] .. I don't think that's a good thing. Him not showing up, I mean.

Then do it.

I'm thinking he's probably still in the city. He'll be pissed when I finally get back. Won't let me out of the bedroom for a month.

[only nods]

[but -- oshi, his eyes widen in realization at that] Wait, you don't think-- [his eyes widen further; oh man, this is not good] ... I really, really hope it doesn't actually work that way. Maybe time passes differently between here and there... this is not good.

Guess we'll find out in the end. Not that this isn't a rousing experiencing, but I'd rather be there instead of here.

[pauses at that, really pauses, then just .. shakes his head] Well, considering how weird this place is.. I mean, have you noticed? It's all people we've seen before, and no one from any other worlds outside of the ones we already knew about. This place feels.. separate, somehow. So maybe getting back won't be so bad.

Looks like they're only connected to us. Or Sora. Hell if I know. As long as there's a way out, I'm fine with a short vacation here. At least it's interesting.
