[Riku looks surprisingly normal for someone missing a large part of themselves. He's wandering barefoot vaguely in the direction of a training room, but close enough to a kitchen that he considers heading that way for something to eat, instead.

In another part of the DR is his own personal double, in full Dark mode. Despite the armor protecting him, he's curled up in the corner of a room that looks like it's seen better days. There's an armchair pushed up against the door from the inside, and a table is turned on its side in front of him for additional protection. The walls are charred from how many times he's let loose with an attack.]

[Hey there Riku~ Long time no see. What do you think of the Riku coming up from behind and following you way too closely?]

[captive_destiny]

[He's going to stop abruptly, just to see what happens.]

[lightyin]

[It's not going to deter him, that's for sure. He'll stop as well, for a second, then move closer to drape his arms around Riku's neck.]

Nice to see you again.

[captive_destiny]

[That makes him stiffen, but it's more a reaction to the pressure than the touch itself. He ducks and drops one shoulder, turning to slip out of that position. He'd been aiming to make Riku run into him, so that was a surprise.]

I'd say the same, if you managed to keep from touching me.

[lightyin]

I could have attacked you instead, if you'd prefer that.

[He's surprised at the reaction, allowing Riku to slip out from his grip. If Riku tries to move too far away, though, he'll follow.]

[captive_destiny]

I would have fought back.

[He's putting an arm's length between them, at least. More if he thinks Riku is going to try touching him again. He's so calm about the whole situation, he almost sounds cocky.]

[lightyin]

I would win.

[He grins, showing off some too-sharp teeth in the process.]

[captive_destiny]

Mm.

[He thinks it's up in the air, though the teeth do catch his eye. He just catalogs it as something new, something to think about. It certainly doesn't scare him.]

[lightyin]

[And that's very puzzling.]

You're different.

[Strange weird odd wrong. He doesn't smell different, though, but who knows which Riku got the good sense of smell.]

[captive_destiny]

Because I'm not afraid of you?

[Excuse you. He doesn't think he feels wrong.]

[lightyin]

I don't expect you to be afraid of who I look like.

[But he's acting...less normal than usual geez.]

But yes, exactly.

[captive_destiny]

It doesn't matter what you look like. You look like me. You look like countless others, but no one else tried to put an arm around me.

[If anything, he's a little offended by that. He doesn't belong to Riku, so Riku has no right to touch him.]

[lightyin]

[Oh, but he's belonged to Riku in the past, even if it was temporarily. And that's good enough.]

They shouldn't be trying to.

[dawnrise]

[By now Riku has encountered enough people to figure out that she's not cured, she's just missing something. So now she's taken to ducking through the halls on a search for that something, but her senses and perception are so off she turns a corner and nearly sprints right into him.]

[captive_destiny]

[He's already sliding aside out of her way, one eyebrow raised. Riku's more than used to being hyper aware of those around him, and even without the undertone of fear as his main motivation, he could hear her running from down the hall.]

Riku?

[dawnrise]

[She stumbles and sort of hops to a stop, eyes wide for a moment. A flicker of annoyance flashes over her face, but it's not aimed at him, and she presses a hand to her head afterward.]

Hey. Sorry, I can't-- I'm off today.

[captive_destiny]

[At least he has a pretty obvious identifier she doesn't need her added senses for. Knowing for sure who he is though, it's going to be obvious something about him has changed, too. He's meeting her eyes instead of looking no higher than her chin, and his posture is a lot more relaxed.]

Are you feeling sick?

[dawnrise]

No, it's not like that. I...

[She realized which Riku it was immediately, but it's only now hitting her how weird this is. How... comfortable his behaviour is, compared to normal.]

Are you?

[captive_destiny]

I feel fine. What is it, then?

[He's not even worried over what might possibly be wrong enough to have her running through the DR. They could be talking about cloud shapes.]

[dawnrise]

[She's staring now, but snaps out of it and shakes her head. Okay, whatever. Maybe she should call Kai, maybe he knows what's going on.]

There's a spell. It's... I'm not exactly sure what it's doing, but I woke up cured. Or I thought I did.

[She holds her arm out, showing off where she should have that wolf bite scar.]

[captive_destiny]

Sounds like how I felt this morning. Just... Better. More than I think I've ever been.

[Maybe that's the spell, he thinks. Sometimes the DR does nice things... Right?]

[dawnrise]

[That's kind of depressing words to hear, given who they're coming from, and Riku falters a little. Maybe she won't tell him what she knows.]

But it's just a spell. It'll be over after a few days.

[captive_destiny]

You don't think the time we're given is worth it?

[He can look a Xigbar in the eye. That hasn't happened in years.]

[dawnrise]

[She stuffs her hands in her pockets, looking conflicted.]

I can't really answer that. I didn't want this.

[captive_destiny]

I know it'll end... I just hope I can remember the way I feel now.

[He looks toward her arm again.]

Is it close to a full moon?
