[ Happy Valentine's Day, dressing room. Riku's got you a present.

That is to say, there's the delicious scent of warm, baked chocolate coming from the kitchen. Riku's inside, equipped with oven mitts and surrounded by a half dozen trays of baked goods. Some cut out into hearts, others still set out to cool, and yet still more going into the oven. There's a large bowl by the mixer, chocolate dripping down the side, and ingredients all over the place. Riku's popping a couple white chocolate chips into her mouth-- oh. Oh. I'm sorry. Anyone familiar with her could tell you for sure which Riku it was, but it looks like she's been hit by a spell. She looks like, well, the majority of Rikus around here. Male.

And all of the trays are filled with brownies.]

Spite. Daddy says he gets hit with spells he most wants to avoid when he actively tries to avoid getting hit.

I guess. I've managed to avoid this spell for a while, but out of nowhere, on Valentine's Day?

Well, I suppose it's because Uncle Red isn't all that interested in other men.

[Then again, last year she turned into a swan and had an evil twin. Holidays are weird.]

... oh right, the Halloween Town thing. Aden gets hives around Christmas sometimes, and Easter makes him barf, which is terrible because I like bunnies.

[She looks a little startled by the mention of Aden, and then a little embarrassed. But she hides it well.]

I'm... not really surprised. The only time I've actually seen Red on Easter he uh... He made a tree wilt.

[Because now your future teenage son will know you got it on with one of his best friends?]

That happens. For people who love candy so much, they really hate other candy-related holidays.

[That is not what happened.]

No kidding. To be fair, his first Valentine's Day Red's eyes started bleeding. I can understand being put off by that.

... ew. Aden hasn't done that for no reason yet. Or if he has, I haven't seen it.

[It most certainly isn't. Also Riku's face is a classic "what", even though she shouldn't be surprised.]

I tried to dress him like a hipster once, and he retaliated by bleeding from the eyes. But he kept the scarf! So that's a win.

[Gross. Her other self's futurebaby is gross.]

I think it was voluntarily. Aden knows I get angry when he does it, since blood is hard to get out of clothes.

[She figures that makes sense, too, even if it's kind of weird because Kira.]

They seem a lot alike.

What do you expect with Aden being Uncle Red's son? He even wears the same jacket practically all the time.

I can't imagine Aden wearing Red's jacket. Or anything like it, really.

[It's like, his thing to her, she can't imagine anyone else with a jacket.]

Well, it's not the same exact jacket. I think Uncle Red might be buried in that one. But I mean that Aden likes to wear the same kind of jacket.

I figured. Still... Is it just something he does because of his dad?

[There is slight hesitance before that last word, because Riku still has a really hard time imagining Red as a father, even though she had to hang out with the older Red once to be taught how to bake Halloween Town cake.]

I'm pretty sure it is. After all, Aden really looks up to Uncle Red. It's not like he's wearing it to look good or anything.
