[Open post time!

It's early evening, and...

shadedlight is in the kitchen with his son, cooking dinner for the two of them. He's cooking, anyway, his son is at the kitchen table playing with some toys.

rikuonehalf is having several issues. He's in one of the bathrooms trying to patch himself up after a particularly bad training session, but a particularly bored Dusk keeps stealing anything he sets down--bandages, ointment, articles of clothing.

darkyang is lurking in a corner of the library with a stack of books.

tainted_piety is watching you, most likely.

paperchains has found a large amount of paint and has turned the walls outside of his apartment into a canvas. Currently, there's giant colorful flowers painted on one section, and what looks like part of a beach right next to it.

lightyin is NOT inside a world room, or at least not a world that any of the current residents have probably seen. It appears to be a beach at night, but at the end of the sand is not a span of ocean, but rather something more like this. He's standing at the edge of the sand, trying to decide if it's safe to check out the water or not.

[Depending on how deep that water is, there may be someone already inside.

She does like to get acquainted with any large body of water in the DR, considering what she is.

She'd be staying out of sight for now though. She's cautious of people she doesn't know.]

[It depends on what part she's in. It's deeper in some places and shallower in others. Mostly shallower near the shore and deeper further out, but you never know. It's magic~

He doesn't currently notice anyone else nearby, and he's fairly relaxed and probably relatively non-threatening. He kneels down to check out the water, dipping one hand into it, and startling when the water suddenly changes color, yellow spreading from where his hand entered the water.]

[Magic is awesome. But she'll keep her distance for now.

But...she's not above messing with him a little. Mainly disturbing the surface of water here and there to make it change colour, before disappearing under the surface again.

She may not be as nasty as others of her kind, but she's still a mermaid. They can be known to cause mischief now and then!]

[Guess who's never met a real life mermaid? This Riku. He does notice the water changing colors and pauses, glancing at the puddles curiously.]

Who's there?

[It's a good thing he's meeting one of the nicer ones then. If he'd met Namine's sister for example...well, she's not as nice as Namine is.

She stays under the water, moving to an area he's not directly looking at before disturbing the surface and hiding again.]

[He glances in that direction, then in the first area he was looking at. When no one appears, he searches the sand, finding a shell, which he tosses in the direction he last saw yellow, skipping it across the water.]

[Give it a few moments after the shell finally sinks...and it's getting throw back out to him. She's playing with you! c:]

[He catches it, surprised.]

You can come out if you want. I'm a good guy.

[He's not going into the water until he knows what she is.]

[She hesitates a few seconds...then surfaces in one of the deeper pools closer to where he is and rests her arms on the edge and her chin on her arms.

She doesn't say anything just yet. Just watches him curiously. And keeping her tail hidden underwater for now.]

[Y hallo thar. He'll move as close as he can to the water without actually being in it and sit there instead.]

Hi. Do you live here?

[Shakes her head.]

No. I just found this place earlier.

[Aw, but the water's so nice!]

[He would agree, but he's still slightly suspicious of it.]

Ah. You're a Namine, right?

[Hey, she's in the water and she's still fine.

Nods.]

Mhm. And, you're a Riku?

[Shiru is going to have a Sora coming in to find him, wherever he is, to invade his personal space. He looks tired, and is wearing the same clothes he has been for the past three days. He doesn't actually get too close, not knowing what kind of mood Shiru is in, but he wants the company of someone familiar.]

[~~How did you find him?~~ Lucky for Sora, Shiru is in a good mood, though he looks embarrassed when he notices Sora approaching, quickly shutting the book he was reading and stuffing it in the nearest bookcase.]

Sora?

[He must not have figured out by now that Sora isn't actually literate. Sora does notice the antics with the book, though.]

I can't sleep.

[He just doesn't want to reveal that he was reading romance novels. For research. Yes. Truthfully, he doesn't care whether or not Sora is actually literate.]

I'm not the best person to help with that.

[A pause. And then an attempt at being more tactful.]

What's wrong?

[He could read those around Sora without him realizing, though. Sora's not likely to react unless Shiru starts reading steamy parts aloud.]

I keep having bad dreams. People die and I can't make them go away.

[It's the principle of the thing.]

You're dreaming of people dying? Friends or strangers?

People I know... Like you, and other people here, and people at home. I keep seeing Roxas die.

[He should know by now which Roxas it is, after living with Sora for so long. Sora looks ready to cry over it.]

Your Roxas?

[Shiru is pretty well acquainted with the 'about to cry' look and pushes books aside, clearing a spot for Sora to sit beside him.]

I don't care what your dreams say...I'm not dying anytime soon. Once is enough for me.

[Sora moves to it immediately, drawing his feet up against him and nodding miserably.]

No matter what I do, everyone keeps dying.

[He'll put an arm loosely around Sora's shoulders.]

They're just dreams. If you think about them that way, they might go away.

[Shiru looks sort of lost, but awkwardly tightens his arm around Sora.]

They're not. Uh...you need to find something to distract you from the dreams.

[He's glancing around to see if he can find something to help with that.]
