[ Here's a Riku, about sixteen-seventeen years old, wearing casual clothes with a shockingly short haircut. Overall, doesn't stick out enough to approach. But she's asleep, dangling mid-air, slightly reclined, the Way to Dawn hanging from her grip. If anyone does approach her, they might get a surprise.]

[ooc: and then I canon updated. Riku's been missing from the DR since July 25th. There will probably be spoilers for KH3D as I'm pulling her post-game. (That's why she looks a little younger than she should - it won't last.)]

[The look on her face is understanding. She even nods. It changes everything for everyone, in fact. She's not sure what it means for her future, in or out of the DR. He'll, she's not sure what it means for this place as it is. She has to frown, making a mental note to confront her older self on these issues.]

I understand now why I had to go back. Why time couldn't just pass without me.

No kidding.

[He's... glad it's over though. He's glad she's back.]

[She is, too. She watches the bat for a moment, who seems to be investigating something on a nearby shelf.]

Sora didn't pass.

I'm... not as surprised by that as I thought I'd be.

[Soras around here weren't really known for being... mature and responsible people? Especially the ones with keyblades. It made sense when he thought about it.]

[Riku snorts, turning her gaze from the bat to Red.]

It's understandable, after everything that happened. Sora still has some training to do.

But everything's stable there for now?

Mm. I woke Sora up. She left to go train on her own after that.

[She looks a little sad, but not as much as she has in the past.]

It'll be good for her.

Yeah, it will.

[Some part of him thinks it's a shame Riku couldn't have stayed with her friends there, but the rest of him is as selfish as ever and glad she's back.]

[It's bittersweet for Riku. But for the most part she's incredibly glad to be here, her real home. As nice as it was to be back in her world again, this is where she belongs.

But she won't say that. She does look at him though, tugging on a lock of her own hair.]

So what do you think?

It's cute.

[He doesn't really have a preference for her hair length, but it is cute like that, he'll readily admit.]

You don't care one way or the other, do you?

[She believes he thinks it's cute, but.]

Not particularly, no. As long as you don't shave it all off, I'm fine.

I'm not planning on that, trust me.

[Watch, we just jinxed KH3.]

I only cut it because it was long again and... I needed a change when I went back. I only had half my memories of this place, and I didn't think I'd be coming back.

[Riku with an undercut tho.]

Makes sense. It does look pretty good, even if it means less of it to grab.

[And that even came with an eyebrow waggle. Good god.]

We'll have to try it out and see for sure.

[So casual about that.]

When do you think we should test it? I'm thinking... relatively soon, but I don't know your plans now that you're back.

I don't have any other plans that can't wait.

[And she means that, but not exactly for those reasons. She just wants to be near him.]

Then it seems we've got some time to waste. On as many surfaces as we can.

[She smirks, waits a beat, then slides closer on the couch to kiss him.]

[He immediately buries a hand in her short hair to keep her there, grinning briefly against her lips before he works on deepening the kiss.]

[Not wasting any time, is he? It kind of feels like she's on the verge of laughing, but she doesn't. She doesn't try to get away, either.]

[They've wasted enough time already, in his opinion, though if she did end up laughing he wouldn't complain. He's just glad she's back.]

[So is she. She's not going to laugh, though. All she does is move closer to him, hands moving to touch his face. She would be perfectly happy if all he did was kiss her for a while.]
