[He should still be in bed. He's still recovering from having Ven's heart ripped out of his chest, and most of his light with it, but a certain encounter has left him pushing his limits to a dangerous degree. So right now, he's in the simulation room, pounding through whatever enemies it'll feed him. Even when he feels like he should probably collapse, should probably crawl back in bed.

All that matters right now is he disappointed his father, and he needs to become stronger so he doesn't do it again. Even as he collapses and the simulation shuts down, and he shakes, he just wants to get up and do more.]

[Does Sora notice the Riku hanging out just outside the sim room? He's been there for a bit, waiting for the room to be free and watching Sora ~~disapprovingly~~, but quietly. Until Sora collapses, when he decides to speak up.]

Why don't you stop before you hurt yourself?

[He'll jump a bit, because he hadn't noticed at all. He'll force himself to stand, though he's obviously shaky.]

Because I have to get stronger.

[Riku is ninja. And also doesn't look convinced at that statement.]

Right. At this rate, you'll just pass out before that happens.

I can't just sit around! Every second I'm awake, I need to push myself!

[Yeah, his temper's kind of short today, though he's mostly angry at himself.]

You've pushed yourself about as far as you can go, from what I can tell.

[He has Reasons, okay.]

So I don't disappoint Dad any more than I already have!

[Because he got hurt badly and was a failure.]

[He'll be more disappointing if he manages to do something stupid like kill himself training.]

I'm pretty sure your dad doesn't want his son exhausting himself to get better at something. I wouldn't. But I might be a terrible dad.

[Sora just fumes, walking toward the door. Also, haha, if he kills himself training, it does mean he's a disappointment. But, oops. That's the way it goes with Ansem.]

I have to keep going... I have to become stronger, better than Riku...

[Well, that's something he hasn't heard a Sora say in a while. Interesting. Watch out for that large light shield that's been called into being in your path, Sora.]

Any particular Riku? Or all of them?

White hair, bad tan? That Ansem? I wouldn't bother trying to impress him. It'll just end badly for you.

[Haven't you been told that he's bad news, anyway?]

I'm not trying to impress him, I just want to be strong and not disappoint him by getting hurt!

[And yeah, his hand's automatically gonna rest over his heart right now. Most recent injury was there. And of course he has. It doesn't mean he believes it, though.]

But yeah. That's the one. He adopted me when I was a child.

If you want to get stronger, start by resting. My own son could probably beat you if he tried hard enough right now, and he's less than half your age.

[He's not touching Sora's familial stuff, at least not right now.]
