At least judging from how quickly he stands up and looks around, quickly and discreetly. Seeing no danger in immediate vicnicity, his expression changes from wary and a little scared to slightly irritated in a second.]

If you're implying that, then you're clearly not an older me. My older selves would know about certain years and that those certain years I spent travelling on my own, as we happened to separate. As you can see, I had no problem surviving that. I was quite well-off during those years, too.
