*There is a new Sora wandering down a hall way looking confused. He's dressed slightly more warmly than a regular Sora and looks around 14.*

Where is this? How did I get here?

*It was weird since the last thing he remembered was being on the road after having left Namine's house. He hadn't even lied down to take a nap or anything. Just there one minute and here the next.

Say, maybe Riku is here somewhere!*

Hey! Riku! Are you here?

((I don't know how many people remember this guy considering how long ago this was, but this is Sora from an AU based on The Snow Queen. He plays the role of Gerda, the main character and Riku is Kay. The rest of the cast list is Here.))

[Sure is! There's a Riku peeking out of this room, in fact. Of course, it's probably not his Riku. Unless his Riku's a girl.]

[Nope. His is definitely a boy. Sora doesn't quite notice her right away, still looking around him as he walks down the hall, still calling.]

Riku! Hey!

[And then he finally does notice there's someone watching him and turns to look.] Huh?

[He wouldn't quite recognize her though. Not only is she a girl, she's way older than the one he knows.]

[She raises an eyebrow at him, emerging from the room further and leaning against the doorframe.]

Not me, right?

Uh...

[He blinks at her. She really does look an awful lot like Riku... This is so weird.]

Ah, no, I don't think so. Who are you?

[Oh. Oh, okay, she gets it now.]

Riku. And you're Sora, right?

Yeah...

[Wait, what?]

Wait, you're Riku?! But you're a girl!

And you're a boy. I'm glad we've established that.

[At least that was signature Riku Deadpan ©]

[Yeah, Sora definitely recognizes that. That's the sort of thing he'd expect from the Old Riku, unlike the New one who'd have been meaner about it.]

W-well... It's not like this is the sort of thing that happens every day you know!

[One would wonder if he had any right to say something like that when he comes from a world where animals talk and it seemed perfectly alright to ask a river if it had really taken his friend. It wasn't as if things were already weird where he came from.]

[The river thing is new.]

I guess. I'm getting used to it here, but since this is your first time... Exactly how long have you been here?

[Well, who else was he supposed to ask? And it did send him a boat, so it must've known something.]

I only just got here a few minutes ago.

Right. That makes sense. Come on, I'll show you around.

[She gestures for him to follow, already closing the door and turning to move.]

[He follows obediently. He's still confused, but he figures it'll make sense eventually.]

What is this place, anyway?

This is the dressing room. Exactly what kind of world are you from?

[Would Traverse Town sound familiar? Hmm.]

Dressing Room? [What kind of name for a place is that?

And no Traverse Town isn't familiar.]

What world? I'm... from Earth. [Well, a Very Fairy Tale version of it, but, yeah.]

...right, one of those. Are you familiar with other worlds at all? Alternate universes?

[This is going to be a tough one, huh?]

[He thinks about this.] Other Worlds? You mean like... Well, I've heard stories about stuff like that, but I've never seen any of it. [It's a fairy tale world, so there's probably something like that in there somewhere.]

Planets?

[This is going easier than she thought it would!]

[No, sorry, his Earth's not advanced enough to know about other planets.] Planets? What are those? I meant the places that demons and fairies are supposed to come from.

...same thing, sort of. The moon is a planet. So is Earth. Your moon probably doesn't have people on it. Mine didn't, either. But there were worlds past them that we couldn't see, in the stars.

[She stuffs her hands in her pockets, peering around the corner.]

Really? [He looks a little surprised. He wondered if his Riku knew that? Riku read a lot more than Sora did, so he knew a lot of things other people didn't know, even their teacher, who'd never told them anything like that.]

Wow, I didn't know that. So, uh, is this one of those other worlds then?

[She nods, gesturing to the hall.]

Yeah. It's kind of like a crossroads. This place brings people in from different worlds and different stories. That's how you're talking to me. I'm not your Riku, like you're not my Sora.

[Sora nods.] Right, I think I get it now.

[Of course it had already been obvious this wasn't his Riku at all. Not only was she a girl, and a bit older than the Riku he knew, but she was being nicer than the Riku he knew was these days.

Thinking about his Riku made him frown. Well, if this place did drag people from other worlds to it, maybe his Riku was here, somewhere. It was worth a shot.]

Do you think, my Riku is here somewhere anyway? [That was definitely a hopeful tone.]

[She slows down in her walk, hesitating to answer that.]

If he's not here already, he might show up. I don't exactly make a habit of talking with other Rikus.

[He deflates a bit.] Ah, okay. Thanks.

[Well, at least it was something? He'd just have to look around then. No need to feel too disappointed, right?]

[Nooo not the sad Sora face. She watches him, then shrugs.]

It's not uncommon. There are a couple people here from my world.
