[It's not a bad day out, Xeha's thinking, as he ambles through the Radiant Garden district with a cup of spiced hot chocolate in his hands and a couple of rolls of wrapping paper under one arm. Hopefully that'll be enough: he went a bit crazy with the present collection, but better safe than sorry!

Suddenly, though, he slips. The chocolate goes flying, melting a nicely scented puddle in a patch of snow. It wasn't that the ground was icy, either...

He stares up, dazed, in no hurry to move. It's like he's walked into a brick wall, and his head's spinning. Disconnected. He knows what he's seeing, but at the same time, it's all wrong... There's no Radiant Garden. But this isn't. He wasn't here before, but he was. But it looks like... but everything's changed.

A whole chunk of memories. A whole slice of a life he'd lived elsewhere. New experiences, new worlds, new sights, new perspectives.

How's that for an early Christmas present?]

Dark and cold, mostly. Pretty much mind-numbing boredom interspersed with moments of terror.

Oh, and lots of Heartless.

[He cringes a bit on hearing that.]

[A moment of silence and the soft crunch of snow follows Xeha's words, as Braig levers himself up into a sitting position.]

I can handle myself. I thought you knew that?

Of course I do!

[Flailing a bit here. Well, as much as he can given he's using so much flail on himself.]

I just... aah. I'm just glad to see you. I mean. Here. How did we even get here?!

[Braig shrugs. He hasn't got a clue.]

Fell back in, I'm guessing?

I - this is the last thing I remember from here! I was buying pres- it's like I haven't even moved! But you - but we... agh.

[He slumps down.]

Yeah. I know what you mean. One moment I'm trying out a teleport, and next thing I know I'm dropping from the sky like I just got run over by a gummi ship.

Are you o - heh. [Attempting to get up, but owch.] Uh, how okay are you?

I... think I can manage walking, if that's what you meant?

Good. [He's obviously limping.] That's one of us.

[Braig can't - or perhaps doesn't - hide the groan he makes as he struggles to his feet. He's exhausted and sore and wobbling a little, but he does have the advantage of not limping.]

Guess it's something?

[Xeha's back to cursing his lack of cure spell ability as he sees.]

Yeah. It's something.

[Sadly, Braig's not got much ability that direction himself. Xeha'll have to deal with limping.]

Just tell me we aren't planning on going far.

[Ow, but he can cope for now.]

Dunno about you, but I think somewhere warm would be a good start?

Definitely a good start. I've had seriously enough of cold for a while.

Heh. Okay.

[Inside, warm, happy, able to sort out just what the heck is going on. Wait, that was his drink he can see there, right? Okay. Café near here. That'll do, unless Braig fancies teleporting anywhere in that state.]

[To be honest, Braig isn't sure his got enough in him to teleport with. Even if it doesn't seem like any time's passed here that last batch of Heartless was a nasty lot (definitely a good thing they closed the Door, yes).]

You wanna lead the way or am I getting that?

Think I know a place. If I remember where it was, now.

[He'll lead, if with a bit of a grimace on his face.]

Hey, it's a start.

[Braig trails along behind, glad to simply have someone to follow for even a short time.]

[Shouldn't be far. A little cozy place with a moogle barista. Xeha'll just about fall into the nearest seat he sees.]

[Cozy is good. Very good, in fact, after the cold and the dark. So once Xeha takes a seat, Braig plops himself down into one opposite for that one.]

This is going to take getting used to again, isn't it?

Yyyyyyyep. That's about the size of it.

Heh. [He stretches out-] Do you think it's just us? Or is anyone else, did anyone else - you know. Go? Come this time?
