[although Master Eraqus spent the day introducing his two new apprentices to the idea that darkness is bad and must be destroyed at all costs, one of these apprentices - this little girl - lies in complete darkness, and she is unafraid. she knows that her new friend Terra is somewhere in this darkness with her, and although she only recently met him, she feels safe, knowing he's there with her. that's why, despite Master Eraqus giving each of his pupils their own room, Aqua is now lying in Terra's bed.]

Terra? Do you think...maybe when we're older...we can defeat the darkness together?

[there comes a sleepy little 'mhm' from the darkness, and Aqua knows Terra probably doesn't even know what she's saying anymore, so she becomes quiet, and within ten minutes, sleep takes her too. sleep takes her much further away than to dreamland, however, for she's alone, fast asleep outside in the snow of the Dressing Room by morning. covered in goosebumps and shivering in her sleep, it'd probably be in her best interests to waken before the cold can have any lasting damage on her.]

[And here she thought most of her doubles would have the sense not to sleep in the snow. She figures that the girl was brought here asleep and the Dressing Room didn't have the decency to drop her off somewhere warm.

So this Aqua will be kneeling down next to her to place a hand on her shoulder to gently shake her awake.]

Aqua?

[Aqua's eyes immediately open to survey her waker. the little girl's lips begin to sound 'mom', but they stop. this isn't her mother.]

Who are you? Are you another apprentice? Is this a test?

[she sits up, tiny body giving a chilly shudder.]

[She blinks and smiles slightly. Man, how long has it been since she's seen her Mother?

Congratulations, bittyqua, you have successfully brought out some of Aqua's soft side.]

This place is a different world. It brought you here. I'll explain everything, but first, I think we should get you some place warmer.

[she might only be a four-foot-something bitty, but she is no longer as sheltered as most children her age are. she knows that there is bad out there - master eraqus told her of the darkness. she's wary of Aqua, and she wants an answer to her question, so she stubborn asks again. well, she more demands it.]

First, who are you?

[She smirks a bit. She'd forgotten how stubborn she used to be.

Then again that hasn't really changed.

Reaches up to tap the apprentice badge she still wears on her chest.]

I'm you. Albeit a few years older...

[that claim is met with a frown.]

You're lying. You look nothing like me.

[she points to Aqua's eyes.]

Your eyes are yellow. Mine are blue.

[..Lets go with the public story.]

They used to be blue. But it's kind of like...Lets call it a scar..From a closer than comfortable encounter with Darkness..

[her eyes widen with interest.]

Did you defeat it?

[...She pulls a little at the edge of her top to show the tip of a scar over her collar bone and disappearing under the top and down/across her chest. It looks like it was made from a blade.]

I almost lost. Terra had to save me.

[That part's true at least. She owes her life to her friend.]

Terra?

[a smile spreads across her face, and just like that, the child is won over.]

But you won?

[She can see. It tugs a little at her Heart to see that. As much as she tries to deny it, she still feels close to her Terra, even if she hasn't seen him in so long, and the last time she did, he seemed angry at her. Looking at her now, she can see it would be the same for this Aqua, if faced with the same situation. Dammit Terra, why do you have to be so stubborn?]

Yes. The Darkness is still out there, but that fight was won, thanks to Terra.

Good! Is Terra inside? It's cold out here.

[she wraps her arms around herself and rubs her hands at her upper arms to try to warm them.]

[...Sighs and removes her jacket, placing it around the girls shoulders.]

No he's not. That's what I was trying to explain earlier. This world pulls people in from alternate worlds and times, and traps them here. There's no way out until the world lets you.

But... I have training. Master Eraqus and Terra will worry if I'm not there. They'll come looking for me.

[she pulls the jacket a little tighter around her shoulders, fitting Aqua with a look of sincere concern.]

Time doesn't usually move back home while you're here. So when you go back, it should be the same as when you left.

As for your training, if you want, I can teach you a little while you're here?

[headtilts.]

But Terra and I were supposed to train together. I don't wanna get ahead. One day, I'm gonna beat him fair and square!

[..Heh. Smiles.]

Fair enough. Alright. Take this time to relax a bit. If your training is anything like mine was, you'll enjoy a bit of fun before the hard stuff starts.

[Aqua nods.]

Can we go inside now?

Yep. We should find you something warmer to wear as well.

[she smiles.]

That sounds nice.

Alright. Lets go. We'll go to the shops first to find you some clothes.
