[Riku looks like a teenager dressed him as their favorite pop star- indeed, one has had quite the effect on his wardrobe- and he looks rather uncomfortable. The "fashionable" clothes aren't the only reason though. He's been staying very close to the house with Kai and Axel, and hasn't spoken to many other people at all since a spell hit him making him think he was in love with a male Larxene.

No, he's mostly uncomfortable because he recently awoke to find himself leashed by his collar to a hook on the wall of the grocery, just outside the doors.]

Were you going inside?

[It clearly bothers Kai more than it does Riku, who looks a little guilty when he realizes what's happening.]

I was, yeah. Want to help me shop?

[if nothing else, he can look on the positive side of this.]

If you don't mind.. being seen with me like this.

[He knows how Kai feels about Riku calling him 'master' when they're in public, and thinks Kai would be ashamed or embarrassed to be seen leading Riku by a leash.]

[he sighs softly and moves to give Riku a kiss on the forehead.]

If it means not leaving you out in the cold in what you got stuck in, I think I'll be okay being seen with you like this. Don't worry about it, alright? The way this place is... it's not going to let me just... ignore how we are, when we're in public. So I should stop trying to feel so guilty about it.

[A kiss makes the worry lines smooth away, and Riku looks even more relieved at Kai's words.]

Good. This means I don't need to get a cart, too.

[because they can both hold a basket! he wasn't going to do a huge shop, but it was enough that one basket wouldn't have been enough. time to head inside~.]

[Riku is very glad to be indoors. The filmy parts of his outfit keep making a swishing noise, and he's very aware of the large bow on his head as he grabs a basket.]

What do you want to get?

[Kai grabs one as well, going through his mental checklist.]

I wanted to pick up some buns, I figured we could do burgers for dinner sometime soon. Milk, cream, butter, bacon, maybe a few other frozen meats just to keep the stock somewhat full.

[they probably go through meat - or really, food in general - pretty fast, between Axel and Apricot.]

Maybe I should get another basket...

[Meats? If there's one thing he has learned it is that there is never enough meat in the house for the twin garbage disposals.]

Hmmmm... I think we might as well get a cart after all. No point in making you carry two baskets when we can get one.

[he doesn't want his poor bb to strain his arms on top of being stuck in that ridiculous outfit.]

[Riku nods and moves to put his basket back, reaching for a cart instead. There's an electronic line of yellow text that keeps streaming down his leg that says something about a voice system, but he hasn't paid it much attention. He really has no idea what the outfit is supposed to be for.]

Was there something else we should get then?

[seasides]

If anything sticks out, we can grab it. I didn't make a list aside from checking around the kitchen quickly and making a note in my head.

[he hasn't really looked at Riku's legs aside from a quick glance when he first came up.]

Is there anything you want?

I want what you want.

[It's an automatic reaction that should be expected, with such an open question.]

[he laughs softly, used to that sort of answer.]

I mean from here. If you want something specific, some food you particularly like or some drink, or ingredients for a particular thing, let me know and we'll grab it, alright?

[Riku had originally meant from the store, and Kai's words make his cheeks turn pink. He's never done it in a grocery before.]

... S'mores?

[hey, Kai didn't mean it like that! he meant like, he's just used to Riku just going with whatever Kai chooses and all that, in anything.]

Mmmm, that's a good idea. We can pile in the yard at some point, properly dressed for the weather of course, and have Axel get a fire going to make some. If we did it in the evening, we could even stay out and watch the stars or something.

[Well, the first thing usually on Riku's mind is his masters' wants, with sex a close second.]

Okay.

[His expression says he's more than okay with that plan, but Kai isn't going to get more of an excited reaction from him. He's still subdued after events with Larx, which he still refuses to speak about.]

[to be honest, while he will have been trying to help Riku re-break out of his shell, he wouldn't have been pressuring him to talk about those events, and it's entirely possible he never will try to get anything from Riku about that. for now, it's shopping time, and once a cart has been acquired, it's time to start wandering the aisles.]

[There's a large part of Riku that is grateful for that. He wants to forget it ever happened, but it's hard when he still dreams of it and can't even look at a Larxene without losing his composure.

Riku follows Kai more out of habit than because of the leash, which may actually come in handy when Riku subconsciously drops back a few steps behind. He's looking at the shelves, but keeps a certain distance between them.]

[he's not going to tug on the leash, but he will pause and look back at Riku with a bit of a frown.]

It'd be easier if you're beside me, you'll be able to see better if I point something out and ask your opinion on it.

[Words work too. Riku looks a little caught off-guard, but takes the hint quickly enough. He catches up to Kai in three steps, his expression sheepish.]

Old habits die hard, it's alright.

[dang, I wish there was a set layout for this grocery store so it'd be easier to figure out where everything is.]

[Riku's gravitating toward the non-perishables first, having a preference to saving things that need to be cool for last. If Kai looks like he'd rather wander over that direction though, Riku won't hesitate to drop that idea in favor of what Kai wants to do. He still looks a little awkward, his mind skimming over things he's done recently that might also have been something of an old habit.]

[that's a good idea, and he'll be moving along with Riku there, keeping an eye out for anything that they might need. he has a hard time imagining having to manage money and pay for stuff, now. silly DR.]

[Kai's lucky in that he's never had to experience Riku's form of bartering for things in his own world. There wasn't much use for munny there, not when dusks could be sent for things. One had to be able to command them however, and Riku was never one with that ability.]
