[speaking of early Halloween transformations, there is, of all things, a naga pulling itself from a dark corridor in the residential district. it's Nami, who is apparently stuck with a new lower half for October! however, he's still very much a Nobody, hence the ability to go through the corridors with absolutely no problem (aside from the moving thing- that's proving surprisingly difficult!). between several floors of stairs and portalling out, the latter was basically the only choice. but now his arms are tired as hell, considering he had to half drag himself. NAGA TAILS, how do they work.]

[you're probably gonna have to portal a little closer than that; Axel's on the same side of the river, at least, sunning himself in the park, since it's a little cooler today. grass is still a lovely novelty for him.]

[he sighs when he realizes there's no one around and wonders where to head. he doesn't need to portal again; he's on flat ground now and it wouldn't be much faster portalling such a short distance, since he'd have to physically move either way. he starts toward the park, deciding there's probably someone near there that can maybe help him figure out what to do. time to half slither and half pull himself over there.]

[he's pretty visible, fortunately, and at one edge of the park rather than the middle. it's not long before he's distracted from poking drowsily at a grasshopper; he can smell Nami in the area, but he smells... different, so he's going to get up and go see. he'll get there before Nami's dragged himself too much farther, and he hurries to Nami's side, looking equal parts concerned and delighted.]

[oh god he's hissing. oh this is so weird. he looks about ready to just fall asleep on the ground right there, but smiles up at him anyway.]

[he gets his hands under Nami's arms and hauls him upright with only a little difficulty, keeping his arms around Nami's chest and leaning back a little so they won't fall over.]

I do not think I will be able to exsssplain it to you, I am not asss good at that asss you are. It iss unfortunate you have to learn with a fully-grown body. Young naga learning to move on their own do not have asss mucssh bulk to work with.

[he turns a bit so that they can move forward, swishing his tail out of Nami's way and keeping a long arm tight around his waist to help him get his balance.]

[don't mind him if he places gentle touches to Nami's scales, all below the waist, to correct his posture to something more natural for a naga body. at least they're almost there.]

[he's not offended or anything, but he does realize he needs to stop trying to move as though he has legs. he's been trying to fix that, but the swap was pretty sudden.]

What iss the purpossse of ssuch a thing? I underssstand cossstumess, but thisss sseemss very elaborate. It iss not sssomething you are wearing, after all, but an actual change from human to naga.

[it would not be surprising to find that Nami is missing a heart in the humanoid half of his body but does in fact have a heart in the lower part. there's just so much TO a naga body that to be able to function without any heart at all would be a goddamn miracle.]

[Watch out for the small child, Nami. The one that's just attempted to attach himself to your snake half with a loud declaration of 'Snake!'. It's too big for him to wrap his arms around, so he just settles for petting the scales. His daddy's nowhere to be found yet.]
