[ Oh look, it's Riku. Yes, she's just as pleased with today's fashion as she was yesterday's. Can't say she can breathe any better in today's dress, but it... is more to her style. Much less pastel. But there's more interesting things to be found today.

Like the bridge that connects to Radiant Garden. What on earth happened to the bridge? Not only has it undergone a full change in design, but it... well, it's still under construction. Indeed, it's being built before one's very eyes, pieces falling into place, concrete and steel forming where it should magically. There are no workers, or anyone around at all, other than Riku. She's walking along a bare beam thin enough that her dress is spilling over the sides, arms held out for balance. ]

[And then tomorrow they were cavewomen.]

I guess we'll see. But I know what you mean, this dress is a bit uncomfortable.

[Mostly the corset. And the fifteen layers of fabric.]

[Riku can definitely sympathize on the corset. It is not helping her sore side at all.]

At least you're not dragging.

Not while I'm sitting here, nope.

[That, and being off these heeled boots are why she's sitting.]

I suppose spending the day swimming or something would be a good way to get out of this situation.

That's not a bad option. I wonder what my closet would throw out for a swimsuit.

[Yes, her entire closet changed. She was not pleased.]

[She giggles quietly at the thought.]

Something with bloomers, I'm sure.

[That is an expression of complete disgust on her face.]

I'd rather swim naked.

Well, you could probably pull that off too. The dressing room doesn't seem to mind much, as long as you aren't trying to go back to normal clothes.

[And spending half the day in the tub sounds pretty okay to her.]

[But then she'd get all wrinkly!]

Yeah, I noticed. I spent most of yesterday in my apartment.

Was it better than being out here?

[She may be genuinely considering this.]

[She shrugs.]

I got bored pretty fast. I figured since I wasn't in pastels today I might as well go outside.

Ohh, so that's what you didn't like.

[She smiles in a teasing way, kicking her feet again.]

And here I thought it was the dress itself.

[Kairi's getting another look. Here's a good example.]

[You make a very good cranky cat, Riku.]

Oh relax. It's pretty obvious how much you'd rather be in pants right now.

[She does try.]

Good. I'd hate for anyone to think I might enjoy being in a dress.

Heaven forbid.

[Siiigh.]

You didn't seem to be all that much happier when I saw you in pants, though.

When was this?

[She might be able to explain why.]

[She takes a while to think this one over, the shrugs.]

I'm not sure. It was a long time ago, I think. I remember you dropping some papers all over the place, but that's it.

[Riku has to stop and think about that. She doesn't really remember it.]

It was probably some time when one of my friends got hurt.

[She looks off again, down at the river.]

Happens a lot more than it should.

[Kairi's gaze falls as well, though it just goes down to her feet.]

I think it happens to everyone in here.

Yeah. You know... I've gotten to the point where I actually like this place. I wouldn't go home, even if I had the chance. It wouldn't be the same, wouldn't be the... right people. Too many people here I'd miss. Whatever.

[She shrugs, tilting her head up to look at the sky.]

That's the one thing I can't stand. The biggest price you pay for being here and making friends.

[She glances back up at Riku for a moment before letting her eyes wander away.]

I actually went home for a while recently. And I was okay with it, except for the loss of just one person I've met from here. Just one, and home wasn't the same.

[She nods slightly, not lowering her gaze at all.]

Funny how that sneaks up on you.

It's not funny at all. It's horrible.

[Her expression has gone from absent to full on frown by now.]

It's like being stuck between two places.

[Riku turns and looks back at her, frowning faintly herself.]

Do you know which you'd rather have yet?
