U: Some of you might know this one..
[ Since his request to have others gather suitable samples was denied, Vexen was forced to gather poor, unfortunate souls for his most recent string of testing. Much to his chagrin, but he could deal with it since it was for science. Thus, for the sake of efficiency, he brought along a bottle of chloroform and a rag.
Now, when he stepped out of the portal, nothing looked amiss in what he assumed was Twilight Town. So he went about his business, creeping through the shadows and back alleys so as not to be seen, nabbing loners here and there when no one else was present to see him. It was a good thing he was doing this himself, too, because the Dusks that were supposed to be carrying them back to his lab were playing with the unconscious bodies. Shiva knows what they'd be doing it he weren't here. ]
Pay attention! They're not your play things, nor will I tolerate you miscreants being careless with my specimens. Quickly, now! Take them to be quarantined!
(( U: Guess who just found this place. ))

oh hai
They may need specifics, given so many locations to choose from.
[Not that vocal commentary means she has to show herself right off the bat. Especially given that one vile animal posing as a double she stumbled across once.]
sup bb? ;D
Oh? And what would make you say such a thing?
[ Source, source, where was the speaker? Stealth and secrecy was priority; being caught was unacceptable. This mis-step needed to be corrected. ]
Hitting a learning curve about how many threads I can do at once.
For one thing they aren't following instructions. That being generally a fairly specific indicator they don't comprehend the order.
Given dusks are not terribly clever the most likely causes lie in lack of specifics or a logic error.
Making the wild assumption you know better than to make those errors and comparing the description I've overheard to my own knowledge of the number of locations matching the description; the conclusion is that 'you don't know where you are yet.'
Re: Hitting a learning curve about how many threads I can do at once.
See him hold his head up high? He either knows or he's resigned to waiting for the other to reveal theirself. Either way, he absorbed the proposed information and analyzed it with a none to pleased look for a number of reasons. ] I'm rarely ill-prepared.
As you already seem to be aware of, when given the precise coordinates of their destination beforehand, their current location is of little consequence, unless in the case of extenuating circumstances. Of which I had little reason to suspect until you spoke.
However, if you can propose such logic in the first place, I'm assuming you can also tell me precisely where, if not Twilight Town, I could possibly be.
On the positive side, I feel she is somewhat popular
'Here,' colloquially referred to as 'The Dressing Room,' is an inter-dimensional nexus sharing passing similarities with Traverse town, The World That Never Was and occasionally black holes or religious notions of purgatory.
The populace is drawn from thousands upon thousands of alternate universes and realities, usually from the same pool of people. All of them trapped and released at seemingly random intervals, causing numerous multiples of most individuals.
[Oh fine she'll stop skulking in shadows
but only because this is a very melodramatic point with which to do sobut only because he isn't stuffing his face with corpses.]In short, it's a large pocket dimension made of a patchwork of worlds and a vehement disregard for reality.
Of course, you're amazing with Vexen. Luxord's trying real hard to mix with mine. :/
Well. This information was interesting if nothing else, so at least the situation wasn't all bad. And as he saw that feminine copy of himself emerge from the shadows, he was lucky to be one of the few mentally equipped to handle, and even analyze, the situation.
Well. Apparently no one figured out how to escape yet, and while he was disinclined to believe her, the fact that she was female and that the Dusks were behaving as they were provided believable evidence. ] I see. Are you a replica, or the original?
Furthermore, if The World That Never Was is present, what is the extent of the similarities? I have facilities, albeit limited, at the castle that could be put to use. [ He really hates the 'catch up' game. ]
The hard part is the second I picked her up I suddenly wanted to pair her with ALL the ladies
[See the trouble with fading is it's awfully hard to do science when you don't exist. So escape isn't as high on the to-do list for her as it may be for him.]
Similarities seem limited, likely to that which is common between instances of the castle between universes, and overall not especially useful given the nature of the population. Considering others will think to visit the castle as well.
Don't feel bad..Once I get his voice just right again, I plan to torture him again. :3
all work and no sleep makes me far too stupid for this I think
>: Still awesome.

[says this teenage girl who is watching Vexen and those Dusks warily]

[ A few of the Dusks carry the precious victim down an alley behind him, two others lingering. Those who saw him were to be apprehended, simple as that.
But the Dusks would do it for him, of course..just not yet. ]
no subject
[she's watching where that person goes, and you really don't want to capture her she doesn't look to bright and would be useless for anything]
no subject
[ Not to worry, he wasn't particular about his subjects. As long as they could create Shadows and Dusks, they would be perfectly suitable candidates.
The duo of Dusks just lingered on either side of his, swaying like the boneless contortionists they were. Distractions while he amused himself with the conversation. ]
no subject
[what, you can't sense the large amount of Light coming from her? she's keeping an eye on those Dusks, but is getting a bit distracted because multitasking is sometimes not Kira's friend]
no subject
[ Oh yes, he can certainly sense it, which is all the more reason to be cautious and thorough. Three more Dusks would filter from a portal a block away, creeping ever closer through the air behind her as they spoke. ]

I trust you have a place to store them?
;w;
Why hello there, sir. Haven't I seen you somewhere before?Vexen had made his way to outskirts of the faux Twilight Town's shopping district, and currently had his hand curled thoughtfully against his chin while staring at the captive. And then a voice he knew--that wasn't some distorted version of his own. ]Ah! Lexaeus. Yes, I have, though it's temporary. I've been informed the castle that stands within this ramshackle world is easily accessible.
no subject
That is entirely possible. He nods at the comment.]Both the one we called home and Castle Oblivion, yes.

Stationing Dusks or higher Nobodies will prove pointless, I'll have to commission the construction of proper facilities, preferably along that mountain range in the distance to deter intruders.

Considering your appearance, however, things have just become considerably easier. [ Volunteers Lexaeus to do some of his dirty work, just like that. ]

Is it too late to hit this thread?
Grandpa Vexen?
Not at all. U:
Grandfather!? What in the name of Shiva do you think you're prattling on about!? I'm no such thing, child! [ Sneers down his nose at her. ]
no subject
Daddy said to call you that. He said you'd react like that. Though it's a little weird you haven't aged since I was five, Grandpa.
((ooc: Sorry ^^;; Vexen might end up with the unofficial title of 'Grandpa' to her, despite his protests...))
no subject
[ He watched her, keeping that sneer on his face. He wouldn't attack her, but he wasn't exactly too thrilled about having to tolerate a child putting its dirty hands all over him. They usually keep those things in their mouths, after all. ]
You're clearly delusional, I've sired no children, nor have I ever allowed any noisy brats within my laboratory.
no subject
Daddy Zexion says you practically raised him. He said that you were the only father he ever really knew.
no subject
...Zexion? [ There was a pause so he could snort. As flattered as he was by the remark, it wasn't his nature to show it at all. ] Regardless of what Zexion does in his spare time, I am, by no means, your grandfather, nor will you address me as such.
You know my name, therefore I suggest you use it.
[ First impressions are important when it comes to Vexen. ]
