Twenty and Eleven

[Today should be pretty much like every other day in the DR for Avani and Hikari, except for one small detail.

Today is their twentieth and eleventh birthdays respectively.

Avani is sitting out on the beach in front of her house reading a book and drinking a soda, while Hikari is roaming Twilight Town looking for ice cream.

Neither of them really feel up to celebrating today, but they wouldn't mind some visitors either way though.]

[it's a pretty big detail for him, and he's coming to visit you Avani, since he lives near the beach and is babysitting today. enjoy the sight of Rikka with a baby sling around his shoulder and torso, tiny toes sticking out of either end.]

[Avani peers up over the edge of her book and smiles.]

Hey Rikka...oh you brought them!

[sits up and sets her book aside, she wants to see the babies!]

[he managed to get it on, but well, having these squirming things in here makes his life hard. woe.]

Yeah, I couldn't just leave the little bastards at home.

[Avani stands up and helps him get the harness off.]

There.

[If she's allowed to take one of them, she does, carefully cradling him in her arms as she sits back down.]

So what brings you over here? [As if she doesn't know xD]

[he has to smother the little smile when Satu, the one you have (he's wearing lavender, which is his color!), just blinks cutely. as a teenager, Satu is his favorite twin, or rather the one he gets along with more. he'll take Sanyu (pale yellow) and get him to stop squirming by holding him close and petting his head awkwardly]

I dunno, it's nice out.

[that gets him a little flustered. of course he has a gift for you in his back pocket.]

[Oh she notices the flusteredness, but she doesn't say anything, she doesn't want to make it worse; she figures you'll give her the gift when you're ready. As it is, she's rocking Satu and humming under her breath a bit.]

They're getting big. How old are they now? Four, five months?

Almost six months.

[ho ho! you can't even be sure he has a gift, as you can't see it! :D Satu likes the rocking a lot, and yawns. Rikka disturbed their nap!]

[Well she can hope right? XD Avani changes her song to a lullaby her mother sang to her when she was their age.]

[Settles back and sets Satu on her stomach, petting his head so he could go back to sleep.]

[he just rolls his eyes, and watches you with Satu]

[She looks over at him with a smile before looking back at Satu to see if he'd gone back to sleep yet or is still fussy.]

[he shifts enough to reach in his back pocket, comforting his stupid little baby brother when he protests the movement, and pulls out a little card, though it feels like there's something hard inside]

[Avani reaches over and takes it with a smile, her other arm still curled around Satu as he fusses a little bit.]

[She flips the card open with one hand to read it and see what's inside.]

[it's of course, a homemade card that he painted. it's more like a mini work of art. the design is red, black, purple and very tribal/elegant. inside the card is a note, and a beat-up looking purple iPod.]

This is my old iPod. I wanted to give you something meaningful. It has all of my favorite songs on it, and even a few that I wrote with Demyx. I hope you have fun exploring.

Um.. a plushie I tried to make on my own. Seems like a little kid thing to give this to you when you aren't a kid like me. Kinda also did something like this for your younger self.

Last minute thing, s-sorry and distracted at times. Gonna be 13 in July.

[She had pretty much instilled in her baby sister that whenever she was out alone, she had to have her phone on her at all times. Reaching down beside the cooler, Avani picks up her own phone, a black, blue and silver number with a glittering heart phone charm, and flips it open to press Mina's speed dial.]
