[Curled up on a couch here, Xeha's got a little tablet computer resting across his knees and is thoughtfully tapping away at it. Poke, poke...
Trying his hand at a spot of coding, going by the screen full of commands and notes. And as with any programming, things are bugging out. Tap, tap, save, compile...]

Oh, come on - I checked that three times!

[Rinzler's no programmer, but code is something he is quite familiar with. So don't mind him coming over to peer at what Xeha's doing.]

[Huh, it's that lightcycle guy! He gives a wave as he comes over.]

Hey, there.

[Xeha gets a sort of perfunctory nod, but most of his attention is going to that code thar.]

[As he works it out, he gives a bit of a laugh-]

Heh. Just working on a little something.

Not working?

Mmm. I keep getting error messages every time I try to run it. Not sure where the problem is...

[There's a moment of silence and then he holds out a hand. He's not sure what a security program'll be able to do, but eh, it's something.

You want a look at it? Sure, I guess... [Guy lent him his bike, he can lend over his tablet. Fair's fair. He passes it over.]

[Thankfully, the tablet is far more along the lines of what he's used to then most of the DR tech, and he wastes no time in looking over the code, processors gently humming as he looks for errors.]

[It's not a particularly arcane programming language as these things go, either. A few places that could've been written better, the comments are useless, and there's a couple of functions there that don't work that way.

Xeha watches, thoughtful.]

[It's not really coding as he knows it, but it's close enough for him to be able to muddle through it. A moment or so later he stops and points at one part in particular.]

Doesn't work.

Huh? [Wow, this guy's fast. He takes a squint at the problem section, pointing along...]

Wait. Yeah, I see it. It's sort of getting stuck in a loop.

[It probably doesn't hurt that he knows certain kinds of code really well. He just nods and Xeha's comment. There's nothing else he really needs to say after all.]

Okay, gotcha. Anything else you can see?

[Hrrrrrm back to perusing the code~]

[Watching anxiously here...]

Do you ... do a lot of stuff with programs?

[He rumbles a bit before answering.]

Coded for security.

[He misinterprets this as 'I did the coding for some organization's security purposes'. After all, who ever heard of the other option? Pff.]

Huh. I bet that's tricky.

[Clearly mini needs to spend more time in the virtual world. Rinzler just shrugs though.]

Used to it.

[He would agree with this. Because virtual world.]

Yeah, I guess experience helps.

[That question gets the rumble-and-nod treatment. Experience is a very good thing, yes.]

How long did it take you to get good at it? I mean, you just looked at this stuff and - got it...

[He doesn't bother to 'translate' the term, even though he knows it. If Xeha doesn't know it, he figures it's not too important.]

[Unfamiliar term, but he takes it as 'years'.]

Huh. Guess I've got a long way to go.

[Rinzler's not the type to offer platitudes, or much care how good at anything anyone else gets at anything. So after a moment he simply gives the briefest of shrugs. He'll admit that Xeha could stand to be better, yes. But that's about it.]

[Heh. He gets the picture, and gives a shrug back.]

Well... thanks, anyway. Is there anything else I need to sort out on this thing?

[There's a rumble and yet again Rinzler turns to the code. This time he doesn't find any errors, though, so he just shakes his head and hands the whole lot back to Xeha.]

Cool.

[He takes it, browses over the whole thing, smiles.]

[There's another moment of silence, and then he turns to go. He sees no real reason to stay here, after all.]

Hey - just a second! If I've got any more problems, can I come find you?

[Rinzler stops at that, and half turns before deliberately and pointedly giving him a flat look and a shrug. He can if he wants?]

[A little embarrassed - he kind of hopes he's not annoying the guy now! Dude seems cool, and he knows his stuff, but with this kind of reception... it's worse than Aeleus.]

Heh. Okay. See you.

[Again, there's a moment of silence and then he again turns to go. He's not coded for nice, and he is most definitely no Aeleus.]

[So long, then. At least the guy gave him a hand with that tricky bit... he settles back down.

And in a little while, he'll be smiling as a rough and ready shoot-'em-up scrolls its way across his screen.]

[Wat is technology? After he spots Xeha with the computer, Ven quietly approaches, totally curious about what's going on.]

What're you doing?

[Hey! He looks over, grins.]

Programming. I'm trying to write a game.

A game?

[Ooh, now that's interesting!]

What kinda game?

A shooter? A kinda basic one, really, I'm not all that experienced at this stuff.

It sounds pretty tough...

[Then again, Ven fails at programming, so who's he to say?]

It's tricky, but it's not bad? I've just got to keep track of everything. ... Okay, 'just', I'm kind of doing something wrong at the moment, I think.

Really?

[He frowns.]

I wish I could help, but I've never programmed anything before...

Don't worry. It's okay - this stuff kind of takes time to learn. I'll get there. [Frowning at the code for a moment-] Somehow.

You can do it!

[Grinning, Ven takes a quick look at the code. ...Nope, he's got nothing.]

Just keep trying, and I'm sure you'll figure it out.

Hope so. [He nods, gives a bit of a smile.] When I get it finished, I'll have to show you!
