I've been going easy on him. Mostly because he's weaker. He just keeps coming back anyway.

If going easy means you set him on fire, then I don't want to know what happens when you're mean. You have to know by now that he doesn't have any magical defenses. And you using your gunblade on him when he doesn't have a weapon at all must mean you're a bully who can't hold up against anyone in a regular spar.

I didn't set him on fire, I cast a fire spell. Basic magic. And that was once, and also the first time we actually fought. And I fight a guy who fights with nothing more than his fists all the time back home. And you know what? He can actually keep up, so no, it's nothing to do with me.

Yes, it has everything to do with you, because you know now that Hayner can't keep up. Once he's finished training, I don't care if you two beat each other bloody like the stupid boys you are. But right now I'm asking you to not fight him. I told Hayner not to fight either. Nobody should have to fight.

[There's a flare of undeniable anger in his eyes at that, like he's about to lash out at her and damn the consequences or the fact that he's in the wrong body. But then there's a pause, and a sigh as he rakes a hand through his hair .]

Look. I ain't ever claimed to be a nice guy. Or to play fair. But if he keeps attacking me in the halls I'm not gonna back down. Never have, never will, and if he thinks he's got something to prove by throwing himself at me, that's not my problem.
