O Tannenbaum

[Not really a tune you associate with ice picks, jigs, dremels and hand saws, right? Relax, Christmas is one of Rikka's favorite times of year. In fact, he's very pleased to have found in one of the more popular "forests" a twenty-one foot vertical slab of ice to practice carving into a tree. He's dressed plenty warm in a (you-guessed-it) black sweater and hot pink pants, though his cheeks, nose and ears are bright pink from the twinkling frost nipping at his skin, and even has the company of some very random Christmas tunes and of course, an assortment of adorable forest animals. The sparkling shards of ice and slush are melting into his silver hair and crunching under his sneakers, but he doesn't seem to notice. The tree he's carving is... lacking for sure, but it's starting to have branches here and there. He's trying, okay ;; It's a performance piece. He might even have some hot coffee or chocolate nearby.]

Alright, I'll admit that it is shaping up quite lovely.

*that makes him puff up a bit, and he stops looking at the tree and starts rooting through his tool box for a smaller saw*

I'm Zexion. It's nice to meet you Rikka.

You remind me somewhat of a friend of mine back home. Considering how this place works I thought for a moment you might be a male version of her.

*he was going to say 'hi', but the whole "male version of my friend" thing has him making a total WTF face*

[Hey, seeing all her female friends as guys has really thrown her for a loop. She's sort of glad your not another one of them.]

Your name is different so I guess you wouldn't be. It's pretty close though.

I'd say your lucky if you really are the only you. It's one thing to see someone who has your face walking around. And it's a whole other level of weird when their the opposite gender from yourself.

Mmm. Yeah. My mom's a Sora. I didn't know until I was older that Soras were 'supposed to be' dudes. Of course, mom can switch back and forth, so I guess he's a special case. I'm pretty sure Zexions are 'supposed to be' dudes, too. I guess it doesn't really matter.

*please stop him, he is about to start philosophizing about gender roles in the DR society*

Sora is... your mother? Who's your father then, if you don't mind me asking?

[She's not going to touch that whole 'supposed to be' thing. It's pretty obvious to her that they'd have different opinions on that one.]

Yeah. My dad's a Riku replica.

A replica? [That concept's a little weird for her. The 'replica' in her world is just Riku's twin.] Well I guess that explains the resemblance to my friend then.

[Overload on the mind though. Someone cloned a male Riku who had a kid with Sora. This world can officialy no longer suprise her. Or so she thinks.]

Yeah. I didn't know 'til I was older though. I always just thought he was Papa's brother or something.

*yeaaaaah that's pretty much The Reaction -- the result is a pretty adorable boy, though*

I would say this world is officialy insane.

Something tells me it's all perfectly normal for you. But to me it seems that it throws all common sense right out the window...

What, my parents?

No. [She shakes her head--sorry, she was thinking about everything she's seen thus far as a whole.] The world itself. Everything in it. I would have never believed it if I weren't seeing it for myself.

I was born here. It doesn't really bother me. It was really scary though, when I was little. Mom talks about how he wishes we lived somewhere safer.

So you must be new, huh?

Fairly new, yes. I guess if you lived here your whole life it makes sense why you don't view it as strange.

Yeah, I have. But... I'm from the future, too. So I've seen even more. My mom here still has the three year old version of me, and my little sister and brothers.

[The future? She's not going to ask how that works.] Sounds like a large family...

Yup. Too many, if you ask me.

*he wishes he were an only child sometimes ;; those were the good old days*

I wouldn't know. I'm an only child. My family is tiny.

[At least her blood relatives. She considers some of her friends an extention of her family though.]

If so, I haven't seen them. But it seems to be a big place so who knows?
