there's a ventus sitting against the wall just across the hall from a certain dark-hearted kairi's door. his mouth is pulled in a straight line, and his brow is furrowed. it looks like something's really bothering him. he's absent-mindedly throwing a rubber ball against the opposite wall.

if anyone's around, the way that the impact the ball makes against the wall sends a vibration across it might be a little annoying. sorry, guys. surely ventus doesn't mean to disrupt anyone's peace.

Destiny Islands. I wasn't born there, but it's where I spent most of my life.

Were you as close to them as I am to Terra and Aqua?

...I was really close to them, yeah.

[he turns his head to meet her eyes, giving her a sympathetic smile.]

Will you tell me about them?

Well... Sora reminds me a lot of you Vens, to be honest. He's always cheerful and optimistic, and he loves to make friends. Riku... he was a little quieter, but still really nice to the people he cares about. Some stuff happened that made him a little solemn at times, but before I left, he'd been getting back to his normal self.

[something in him changes when she says their names. he lifts his free hand up to his hair, holding it against his skull for a second, like he's experiencing a headache. then he stops walking.]

[damnit. ventus swallows his words, silently cursing the parasite. he doesn't care what it thinks about sora and riku. it's not going to get another word out to kairi.]

You miss them. Why did you leave them?

[ She shrugs a bit awkwardly and looks away. ]
