[So. This guy's just gonna nudge open the nearest door and follow his nose to the nearest kitchen like he's been here a million times. Which, technically, he has. Technically.

This place hasn't changed much, but to those who look/smell familiar to him, he might pause and sniff at you for a bit. Other than that, he's mostly harmless. Just sort of abnormally big. :|b]

[Riku nods, and will even twist her arm a bit at her side to show off the large bite scar.]

How did you know?

[Damn, that's a rather big scar.]

Your scent. I smell the wolf more, it's... stronger.

It is?

[She seems surprised by that. And yes, it's pretty big. Hurt like a bitch, too.]

Yeah, a little.

[He shakes his head though, glancing to the side] It should stabilize soon. It's still early.

I'll keep that in mind.

[She moves her hands to her pockets, tilting her head up.]

Have you always been able to do that? Change at will?

[He nods] I've been doing it for a while, since they changed me.

They?

[She's not really going to keep her questions back. She figures if there are any he doesn't want to answer, he won't.]

The government back where I'm from. They were experimenting with bio-weapons and I got chosen.

[She looks very surprised by that, and kind of wants to ask why -- why they'd create a werewolf, why him... but that seems kind of personal.]

How?

[He won't go into details if she asks, since it's... a rather long story.]

DNA mutation. They used teens because we're easier to adapt to the change than adults. At least, that's what they told us.

Huh.

[Now she's wondering if he had any kind of choice in any of this.]

[Not exactly, but, she didn't ask so he's not gonna put a spotlight on it or anything.]

[Of course not. She wouldn't either.]

So... Does anything happen to you on the full moon? Does it get worse?

[Oh the dreaded question. He gets visibly uncomfortable at that]

It's... kind of hard to explain...

[That makes her tilt her head up curiously, one eyebrow raised.]

That's the only time I transform. And I'm not nearly as calm as you were.

That's because I've been doing it for about five years now. You'll get used to the pain eventually.

It's not the pain I'm talking about. It's losing my mind. I'm not in control at all when I change.

How many times have you done it?

[She takes a few seconds to count them out.]

Five. Should've been seven, but I left this place for a while.

You're still newly turned, not being in control isn't surprising. You need time, your body needs to adjust. But no matter what, you have to remember that it's not your fault. You're still you inside, you're not a monster.

... I can't help you much, but if you need someone there when you change, I'll do whatever I can.

[She straightens, a little ruffled by being talked to like that, but relaxes enough, very much looking away from him.]

I have someone there with me, someone immune. We've got it under control.

I see.

[He looks uncomfortable again, looking down briefly.] Sorry, that's... probably not what you need to hear. I'm glad you've got someone.

I hope you're right, and that it is possible for me to adjust. If I have to stay like this.

I believe you can. You have someone who'll stay with you through that, sometimes that's all you need.

[She is actually somewhat embarrassed by having it put in those terms, with the personal side of her situation, but she's hiding it well.]
