[There's a loud thud as this Riku falls from nowhere and hits the floor. He immediately rolls onto his hands and knees in a coughing fit, completely soaked and coughing up water. He's been missing for a little while, though he didn't go home or anything like that, thankfully.]

Tanya: Drowned.
Tanya: /what)

[he just jumped a foot in the air, his heart in his throat until he sees who it is. he doesn't move though, his eyes wide as he sees all that water being coughed up.]

[It stops eventually and leaves him staring at the floor, breathing harshly. That was not pleasant at all.]

... Daddy?

[He blinks at the noise and looks up, his ears still rather clogged. He looks so relieved to see Riku though, and smiles exhaustedly, sitting up.]

You're okay...

[he looks ready to cry for all of two seconds, before racing over to fling himself at you. you're going to get an armful of tinyku in three, two, one...]

Daddy!

[That armful of tinyku will be getting pretty wet, because Riku is hugging him so close.]

It's okay, Riku. I'm here.

[he doesn't care, not when he finally has Chichi back. he even left his stuffed paopu behind on the floor, because Chichi is far more important.]

Where'd you go?

[That's very touching! He has to stop and think at the question.]

...I got lost because of the water.

[guess who isn't going to let go any time soon?]

I couldn't find you...

[He really doesn't mind, but he might need to change before he gets a cold.]

I'm sorry. I tried to get away from it, but it didn't work. You were okay though? Who was taking care of you?

[luckily, Riku doesn't put two and two together at hearing getting away from the water didn't work. he has to think hard about who it was he was with during the flood, the memories bare but still there.]

A girl found me, and.. and a really really old man that smelled funny.

Smelled funny how?

[...Well, after the Even thing, he doesn't trust Riku around just any old men in this place.]

Like a wet doggie.

[his nose wrinkles remembering it.]

[...Please let that be a coincidence. He really doesn't want to think about that right now. Instead, he'll get a good hold on Riku and stand up.]

Let's get out of these wet clothes before either of us catches a cold.

[he is going to cling like a little leech to be sure he isn't left behind again.]

Don't forget Mister Paopu!

I won't, don't worry.

[See, he's bending over to scoop him up as they pass and everything.]

[he gives a little squeal at the dip, and that toy is going to be hugged protectively between the two of you]

You're not gonna go away again, right?

Never again.

[He... doesn't want to promise, because sometimes things are out of his control, but he'll do his absolute best.]

[that's just what he needed to hear though, something that has him easing up on his tight hold.]

'love you, Daddy.

[The warmth he feels from that is enough to help him ignore the chill from the water and he smiles.]

I love you too, Riku.

[he doesn't care that he'll get even wetter when he rests his head against Chichi's chest]

Are we gonna hafta take a bath now?

No.

[...He should probably explain instead of leaving it at that.]

It's not dirty water. We just need to dry off and get changed.

'kay.

[he seems happy with that answer, and is content to just keep hugging as they make their way through the halls.]

[He's not sure how long he's been gone, but he'll find out soon enough, so he doesn't feel the need to bother Riku about it. Once they get to his/their/whatever room, he's going to set the kid down and go to get some towels.]

[Riku is going to try to be helpful and raid the drawers of clothes in Chichi's room. it doesn't seem strange to him at all that everything that was destroyed in the flood is back to normal. he'll come running up with a green shirt and some blue pants.]

Here, Daddy!

[Which makes him smile, of course. He's going to drop a towel on Riku's head and take the clothing to put aside for a moment.]

You're not as wet as I am, so let's dry you off first so you're not waiting around for me to finish.

[that gets a giggle as Riku pushes up the edge of the towel to watch]

[He just crouches down; time to get out of the wet clothing before it gets too cold, Riku!]

[he'll shimmy the best he can without toppling over, happy to be getting dry clothes, but mostly just happy to have Riku back.]

[He just dried Riku off with that towel, then will put him into fresh clothing.]
