Unversed?!

[Yeah, sorry, Kairi. Ven here's too focused on the surrounding Unversed to really pay attention to what's going on.]

[ The Unversed are getting quite riled up at the sight of Ven, momentarily forgetting their new "orders." However, Vanitas doesn't seem too interested in fighting. In fact, when she speaks, it doesn't sound like Vanitas at all. Is that Kairi~? ]

--stand down, all of you!

Kairi?

[He looks from the Unversed, to Kairi, and back to the Unversed.]

Hey, what's going on?

[ She removes her helmet and, lo and behold, that is indeed a Kairi under there! Not a sign of Vanitas-looks, not even a bit of black hair. ]

Well... they were getting sort of antsy... so I decided to, um. Organize a scavenger hunt for them?

[ That's kind of a nervous laugh. Here she is treating these Unversed kind of like a bunch of kids. ]

A scavenger hunt?

[...Hmmmm. That's interesting!]

That sounds pretty fun! You sure they'd go for it, though?

They were just getting ready to get started, actually. They've got orders not to attack anybody, and to run if they get attacked. I guess they just got a little excited.

Really?

[...He crouches down to their level. Gee, this is awkward.]

Sorry about that. I didn't mean to scare you!

[ The Unversed, if they had the intelligence, would scoff at the idea that they were scared. As it is, the apology flies right over their heads and they turn to Kairi for instruction. ]

Go on, you lot. You've got things to find, remember?

[ That gets them moving and they all disappear in different directions, leaving Kairi and Ven on their own. ]

[With the Unversed gone, Ven moves closer to Kairi, looking over her carefully.]

I thought you turned into Vanitas when you used your armor.

I used to. Then... something happened, and when I called my armor up, I stayed female, but was still Vanitas. Since then, every time I change into my armor, I've looked a little less like him.

But that's great! It means we don't have to worry about you changing back into him.

[If Ven was a lightbulb, he'd be glowing right about now.]

Yeah, it is. And it means I can defend myself to the best of my ability without having to worry about losing myself.

I'm glad. One time was bad enough; I don't want you to ever go through that again.

[As long as she's here, anyway.]

I don't particularly want to either, so I'm glad this happened.

Yeah.

[How 'bout another derp hug? This is something to be celebrated!]

[ Hugs are always nice, and she leans right against him with a happy smile. ]

I'd been practicing changing just so... I'd get used to looking like that. And then suddenly I didn't. It's so weird.

[Well, hopefully she won't mind if he uses his extra height advantage to rest his head right above hers.]

I bet it'd be just as weird having to change, though. At least now you've just got the armor.

[ She certainly doesn't mind. It just makes her smile more. ]

Yeah. I'm kind of glad that didn't go away, at least. Extra protection and all.

Hey, maybe this means we can train together!

[He grins. It'd be nice to have a sparring partner, anyway.]

It'd be nice. But... should we really risk it?

[ B-Because she's still got Van-Darkness and all, even if she doesn't look like him anymore. ]

Well, we could always use training swords instead of our Keyblades...

That's true.

[ She thinks about it for a moment, then smiles hesitantly. ]

Besides, what's life without risks?

We'll just have to be extra careful, that's all.

[Besides, even if something did happen, he would never hold it against her.]

Yeah. I really would like to train with you sometime.
