(no subject)

[Either the game room didn't get hit by the flood, or the electronics in it are already back in working order, because Red is currently occupying one of the racing game chairs. He's looking much healthier than he did when he first started coming back around, and the dressing room has turned him female yet again. It's an ongoing thing.

Oh, and for some reason he's dressed like this, complete with the hat and coat.]

What causes it, Riku?

Stress. Seeing my friends hurt. Getting into fights. Getting injured. Any negative emotions. There's a dozen other causes.

[Most of which she doesn't want to tell. Like her nightmares. Sorry she sounds so hostile.]

Annnnnd... do you do anything to actually balance? Stress relief? Aside from beating shit up.

[Somehow he doubts she does. At least properly, anyway.]

[She opens her mouth, then shuts it quickly, looking away from him. There's some color to her cheeks, but it's hidden under her hair.]

There's not anything that works well enough.

[Well... Hanging out with her friends does wonders, especially the ones that radiate light, but she can't ask them to do that every day.]

[There is a certain friend of hers that's completely Light that would be fine with spending time with her every day. :| Also he hasn't noticed her blushing, since his gaze is off to the side as he thinks.]

What have you tried?

[She knows that, but she doesn't want to ask him.]

You want me to list everything I've tried over the past few years? We'd be here all night.

You have anywhere else to be?

[He sounds teasing- but he really would stick around and listen if she listed things. Maybe it'd help to have someone else knowing and thinking on it, or something.]

[Clearly, he forgets who he's talking to. Riku snorts at that, twisting so she can lean against one of her bed posts. Canopy bed and all that.]

It's not your job to listen to my problems.

[So there. Going to kick his shoes off so he can move onto the bed properly, wiggling his toes a bit. Yay stockings. x(]

And I don't want to talk about them.

[She's still wearing her sneakers. And now her eyes are zeroed in on those apparent stockings. Hello, distraction.]

[Man, Riku, why must you be so stubborn. Also they're very nice stockings.]

It's not going to help, because I've tried it before.

[And she should be able to handle it on her own. ~~They're making her wonder what else he's wearing that she can't see.~~]

Not with me. I'm not saying to list what you've tried or talk about it just for the sake of talking about it. How am I supposed to think of something new if you haven't told me what you've already done?

Have you considered that maybe I don't want you trying to think of something new? I get enough of that from everyone else.

You just don't want to accept help. Because you should be able to do it on your own, right?

Riku straightens up against the bedpost when he does that, and turns a sharp look on him, but doesn't respond.]

[He just smiles and turns to look away, looking oh so innocent. Sorry, was he not supposed to know that? You make it fairly obvious.]

[She is not amused by his fake innocence -- she actually looks pretty angry. She knows it's obvious, but she hates it when people call her on it.]

[Unfortunately for her, he's not the type to tip-toe around it; if she doesn't want to talk about her problems, he's going to end up saying something that pisses her off, no matter what.]

[Oh, no doubt about it. It's true. And Riku's aware that this part is entirely her fault, but she doesn't want to deal with that, least of all. She takes a deep breath, then exhales shakily, one of her hands coming up to cover her face.]

But that aside, if you don't want to talk about it, then that's your choice, of course.

[He eyes his shoes, then the case with Riku's arm-paper.]

Though I suppose that means I should get going.

Mm.

[She drops her hand to rest her chin in her palm, keeping her eyes closed and looking overall tired. Or depressed. She doesn't look as irritated anymore.]

Even if I did talk about it, or searched forever for better ways to keep it back, there are things that happen... that trigger it, that I'll never have control of.

But you could still have more control than you do now.

[That makes her smirk.]
